Interior Exterior
Q:
I can't believe I did this! I'm in the garage cleaning the windows with windex and paper towels. When I notice a spot of bird crap, well I can't have any of that, so I used a "wet" paper towel and it came right off. Then as I was moving away, the light hit it right and a saw a bunch of scratches . Then I thought ... I can't believe I just did that, what an idiot! I suspect it's just the wax, but still. Stupid... Stupid... Stupid I think I need one of these ->

yah if you remove bird poop by wiping it, it'll scratch. you have to be very very careful to not press into the paint at all. i try to pour water out of a bottle onto it to "loosen" it up and usually most will come off on its own this way.

Yep, water, then some Griot's Speed shine and a microfiber... birdcrap is the pits...

Thanks, I need that! ... It was just a reflex to bird poop

bird poop can contain sand that the bird uses in their gut to grind down their food...

Whoaaaa...Windex on the glass?? Yes, it works decently in the house, but definitely be careful applying it to automotive glass. I say this because Windex can discolor interior fabrics because it has Ammonia. I strongly recommend an automotive-specific window cleaner (which have no ammonia). I suggest Poorboy's Waterless Wash solution as it is a very flexible product, works well on paint as a quick detailer and is the best window cleaner I have found to date, as it truly leaves a streak-free shine, unlike Windex, which I used to use myself.

Cool, thanks for the pointer... No more Windex for me!

Glad I can help. Just to let you know, I have tried Eagle One Window Cleaner and Armor-all Window cleaner as well. Both products leave streaks. Here is a link to the Poorboy's product that I purchased:

On a side note, I introduced this product to my friend, and he was so happy with this product that he purchased a full gallon!! He even gave a nickname to this product..."Hulk Juice" for it's green color!
