Q:
I've been considering different set-ups and have decided on a 6pt harness with the two lap mounts secured to the seat rail frame. The lap belts come under the tighs up the crotch to the buckle. No slots required in the seat. I'd like to secure an additional piece of 3/16th inch steal extending under the rear seat attachments over the underlying seat rail. The OEM seat bolts as well as the additional mounting points for Euro seats would secure the piece in place. I'm going to have two half loops welded to the piece behind each seat for attaching the clamp style belts. The clamps allow easy removal when not in use. The remainder would attach like a typical 4pt harness. I already have the BWR bar installed. What do you think? I'd really like to avoid drilling holes thru the rail and bottom of the car.

Why 6 points? I have a double crotch setup lying around and tried it. It didn't seem to work well with the seats. The single strap works just fine with Shinoo's underseat bar.

That requires the antisub strap to run in front of the seat which defeats its purpose, no?

Agree - you *need* a slot for the antisub belt to work properly.

If you try to attach the anti-sub straps to the lap mount positions it will not work. If you attach them behind the seat they work. I hear the Lotus OEM system on the 240R is a 6pt as well. The 6pt should work fine with the OEM seats. I've also considered doing the back slot mod if need be.

True that the angle of the sub belt is not optimal but it's purpose is to keep the lap belts from riding above the hips. Unless the stress on this belt is enough to break the seat (or the mounts of the bar) it will do it's job, no? BTW, the S1 exige attachment points for the sub belt is identical to Shinoo's.

The forward pivot point of the anti-sub will pull the buckle away from your body. It will create room for the hips to move forward. Everyone I've talked to suggest your better off without it.
I belive the OEM Exige seats are indeed slotted for the anti-sub.

OK, slot OE seat is on the Winter list. Anyone know where to get 2" seat inserts?

I got a link off ET for the slots. It is on my home computer. If I find it I'll post later. I bet most custom interior places would be a good resource. The one I was looking at was from a viper group.
