Has anyone tried a gear shift knob like this?

A&Q about Lotus

Q:

I was thinking abuot replacing the round knob with one that is more ergonomic. Opinions? Is this one any good, or should I let it alone.
A:
I have one similar to that on my Mini except that is all CF.
I like it much more than the ball.

I have been looking for one for the Elise for a long time. Finally gave up.
A:
Funny, I've replaced "handle shaped" knobs on other cars with nice ball shaped knobs like the Elise - I much prefer them ball shaped.

In any case, it's going to be hard to find a replacement shift knob. You would have to find one that has the recess in the bottom for the reverse lock-out to pull up into. That is unusual, and will be hard to find. Sorry...
A:
I guess some people just like balls.
A:
Hmmm.... How about brass versions of our balls, errr... I mean, shifter knobs?

I bought one- doesn't fit
A:
It says in the ad "for cars without reverse gear arrest"

It says in the ad "Also suitable for the gated AT shifter"

It's just another generic part from a vendor who does blanket ads. These are very prevalent on ebay. You can even buy rear floor mats for your Elise/Exige.
A:
Balls are the best!

Love my c/f balls
A:
Thanks guys. Scratch that idea. I'll keep my ball.
A:
my knob has a woody...you know a wooden knob.
