Can't say that I do - just a garage full of bicycle tools

Nope, wasn't me. Could be Kiyoshi, he's somewhere in that area.
I've heard of a few throttle-body problems with the '06 drive by wire system, but from what I recall the engine would still run...it'd just be in a limited RPM, running crappy sort of 'limp mode'.
Did you try the inertia switch reset suggested earlier in this thread?

I've also heard of a short circuit problem with the A/C fan, but I assume you had the A/C fan off when trying to start the car?

Yes, I tried the intertia switch a couple times. I actually pushed the car up and coasted down the driveway a couple times while jerking on the brakes to slosh around the gas as my last, pure desparation tactic. Again no luck.

I've actually never used the A/C - No wait, I did try it out once to see if it worked
I also have never used the stereo - And that one I'm sure I never even checked to see if it worked. Just pulled the faceplate off and stuck it with the window sticker and purchase contract.

Did you check the engine bay fuses? R1 is the fuel pump...

I'll check first thing in the a.m. Thanks.

Hope it's simple as that!

We do not have a return system in our fuel system. Priming the system will not work like a round and round system with a regulator. You may need to continue to crank with a little gas pedal action to bleed out the air. Is our fuel pump on the bottom of a hanger, like most cars, with the sock hanging off it(internal tank pump)? Never really looked.

Here you go.

Well, Looks like a standard type pump and hanger. That pic, of course, is not the fuel lines. It's the vapor recovery system, emissions.

Know this is a dumb question and since you apparently cranked it quite a bit, was the battery and a fully charged state? A long shot.
As I recall the throttle body problems that initially occurred put the engine into a "limp home" mode with max rpms restricted etc.

Can you hear the pump priming the fuel line before you turn over the engine (whirring sound which stops after 3-4 secs)?

Battery was fully charged and still has plenty of juice to crank over the starter.
My car never went into limp mode. Just died and wouldn't restart.

I do hear something happening for a couple seconds before pressing the start button - but not sure if it's the fuel line.

Thanks for this suggestion. Tried it yesterday and just tried it again with no luck.
While the engine is turning over as I press the Start button, the "check engine" and the "traction control" lights flash but stop once I let go. Not sure if this is normal or not.

I assume you checked the fuses and they were OK?

I've run out of gas twice in the Lotus. No problem starting up after going to the gas station and filling up one of those containers. I now permanently have one in the car in case I try to push my luck again.

I think I heard somewhere that the cables to the ecu can get loose and do weird things. Can't hurt to look at the ecu harness and make sure it's secure.

Thanks for the suggestion. Can you direct me to where the ecu resides? Couldn't find in a search of this site.
