A&Q about Lotus
Q:
I got an all-ett and it is much thinner full than an empty leather wallet. I even drive the Elise and 7 with it in my back pocket.
A:
I just googled that and checked it out.
My Tumi Fusion Z wallet recently gave up the ghost so I bought Tumi's Slim Wallet, but it was still pretty thick being leather. I did some searching and bought one of these:
So far I'm very hapy with it. A couple of my friends have ordered them as well after seeing them. It appears to be the same basic thickness as the all-ett, but the layout looks to be better and the material nicer. Neither website is very great, but at least you can see the actual product without a ton of searching on the Big Skinny site.

Just keep your wallet in your front pocket. I've never carried a wallet in the back. Too easy to lose, or get stolen.

I got this years ago: and it's still like new. Who needs all those pockets and hidden compartments anyhow.

I actually bought the same exact (or something from Coach that's super similar) card wallet on sale for $20. I figured you couldn't beat that. It's working quite well, too

The all-ett has been v good for me. Material is a little slippery and more cards may come out than you wanted.
IMO, jlb is correct. Don't carry your wallet in your back pocket.
A:
I carry mine in front, but only when I need to (bad part of town).
I have gotten in the habit of just taking it out before I get in.
I do the same with my cell. Just put them in the cubby below the start button.

When I first saw the thread, I thought it was about the Elise making your wallet thin.
A:
I also have the BigSkinny wallet. If Colin Chapman made wallets, this would be it.
It does require that you only carry the essentials but it's very thin and still a real wallet.
The website is a bit over the top, but order response was very good.

I've always preferred a VERY thin duo-fold (not tri-fold) leather card wallet (no place for paper cash / receipts). I use a flat money clip for cash and keep it in my other back pocket.
what is in it?
inSide 1 (opaque leather facing): 1 Visa, 1 AmEx, 1 Debit Card
inSide 2 (clear plastic window): Driver's license, health and auto insurance cards (thin paper), AAA card
outside pocket (VERY thin pocket): 1 check and one bill folded in thirds as emergency cash payment methods

Funny, it must be new-wallet season ! I just replaced my old worn-out Tumi, and after some back-and-forth, ended up going with another Tumi, this one slightly stripped-down (eliminated some of the extra junk that I rarely need/use).
I wish I'd known about these alternative wallets. Oh well...

I use a thin wallet that I picked up at REI. Saves weight!
