A&Q about Lotus
Q:
Anybody ever had mice get in their Elise from the garage while the top is off? I was heading home from work the other day and a baby crawled up my pants leg. It freaked me out and I almost ran off the road. I got it off my leg and saw it go behind my seat. Luckily my drive hom is only 15 min. I was able to get the thing out once at home. I hate having to close the car up each night. Guess I'll set traps all over the garage.

Jen (onefastlotus) had one camp in her car and hord seeds. Do a search for mouse and you'll see a few posts.
A:
So, who was more scared?
Closing the car up won't keep them from getting in your car - don't ask me how but they will find a way unless you get rid of them completely from your Garage!
A:
Wow, that's pretty crazy. I had a cat in one of my Porsches once, but now mice.

I've just had exactly the same thing.
I went on holiday (OK vacation if you insist) and left my '06 Elise in the garage under the proper tailored lotus indoor car cover.
When I returned I noticed there were two small ragged holes in the cover - just underneath where it goes over the door mirrors.
I thought that maybe a mouse had got trapped and chewed its way out.
Then I decided that was a bit unlikely.....
Anyway later I saw some small pieces of foam in the driver's footwell and last night I found a newborn mouse in the same footwell.
The car goes in for its first service tomorrow so - as I write - my wife is searching around trying to find if there's a nest behind the dashboard.
At least we should provide some amusement for the service guys tomorrow....
(first post - by the way - Hi everyone....)
A:
Welcome to the boards - at least your mice have good taste
A:
True.
My wife's just reported no sign of a nest.
I'll just put a (humane) trap in the garage and have a word with the cats about their responsibilities in the matter
A:
This sounds like it is from an episode of "pimp my ride"!!
A:
I had a mouse build a nest in the front compartment under the fuse box. Surprised the heck out of the mechanic when the car was in for it's 1,000 mile check and the mouse ran out.
Several traps in the garage and lots of rat poison blocks spread around in my garage and I haven't had any other problems.
Just one of the "features" of living with the woods in the back yard.

I have a hamster in my Elise; it is in the engine bay.

If you do a search, I think I posted pictures of my mouse seed collection. Mouse is gone now. Mice seem to really like the Elise. There seems to be a never ending collection of mice in the elise stories. Funny thing, I've never had a mouse in any of my other cars. Maybe mice have an appreciation for the Elise.
A:
Jenn had the only mouse to EVER get a ride through Deals Gap in an Elise if you guys recall!
A:
lol, good times, he probably had a headache afterwards. I'll try and dig up a picture of the little guy in the frame.
A:
Here ya go Jenn, and the link too

Maybe you are right... When the mouse made my Elise his home, it was parked in the garage right next to my Elan. No sign of any mouse anywhere near it...
