A&Q about Lotus
Q:
Per the SCCA Solo rules, one may lower the car if the manufacturer publishes an "optional" ride heights, that can be achieved with oem built-in adjusters. We have the Track Pack with the optional spring perches.
Supposedly the ride heights is 13 cm (measured where?) ... with a recommendation of 12 cm for the track. Does anyone know where one can find that recommendation in print?
Does everyone agree that "track" can = auto cross course ...
A:
I don't have the track pack, but this is what I know.
You can use the ride heights to corner weight the car, this is the biggest advantage Lowering it all around might help a VERY small bit, but you might get tire rubbing at some point.
A:
We want to know how much we can legally lower the car, so when we corner weight it, we can lower rather then raise the appropriate corners.
A:
10mm

Also, the front suspension starts to do bad things if you lower it too much.

I thought I was over that moving from my McPherson strut WRX to Lotus A arms! ;-)
But even with the WRX McPherson struts ... lower is better, even though it raises the roll center.
But what is too much ... 10 mm is what even Lotus suggests, and all we were thinking of for now.
