A&Q about Lotus
Q:
Just remember that the Lotus Sport guys are used to an adjustable plate-type LSD while the factory unit is a Torsen type LSD. They don't perform the same. In fact, I've heard the Lotus Sport guys call the plate-type diff a "proper diff", FWIW.

FWIW, I am not sure you can even tell when TC is working.
I would like to know if anyone that has T/C, can tell when it is functioning. And if so, what tells you?
I have a 06 with tc & no lsd. I got 2000 miles on it with about 300 of those on the track. When the traction control kicks in there is a slight loss of power & it sounds like popping popcorn out the exhaust. I think it actually works pretty well, it has only activated in a corner with the throttle flat on the floor.
With the stage II exhaust it is very noticeable, I prefer to turn it off at the track tho.

I had it in Peru on a practice run. It sounded like it misfired/no gas coming out of a skidpad onto a sweeper with a lot of bumps. I did not like it.

I have T/C and no LSD. The T/C activates in the appropriate track cirumstances. It lets the tail wag a bit under power. It does not PREVENT slip, it only reduces it to what is presumably a proper amount. I like it.
I contrast this with the electro-wizardy on my Audi which will bring things to a screeching halt if it's unhappy. Unlike the Lotus, I've never wrecked the Audi, so there are tradeoffs...

Mine hardly turns on, but it does on this one road in the early morning, there's a railroad track crossing. If I push it just a tad bit past that section, the light turns on, probably due to some slippage over the wet metal part of the railroad tracks.
I feel a slight dip in power, but no wheel spin whatsoever.
