A&Q about Lotus
Q:
In early 1999, I saw an S1 on display in Redwood City and had to have one; the process of waiting had begun. When I put my deposit down, I had a new waiting experience. This most recent wait for my Elise to be repaired is unbearable.
All of the door parts are in and the refinishing shop had paint shipped from the same suplier used by Lotus. The refinishing shop wants to get the color just perfect, so they are waiting for a sunny day to match the color in natural light. Of course, it has been raining for days. If we get a couple sunny days I should have my car soon. Please make an offering to the rain god and make him stop.

Micks work is perfect. No other word to describe it. He really does have ane eye for color matching and pays attention to the smallest detail. My hardtop was scratch and I got it back last week from Mick. It's as if it never happened. I can't tell where the scratch ever happened. I saw what I assume was your car under plastic when I picked up my top. You won't be disappointed when you get your car back.
You might consider getting Mick to paint your shifter housing since it's already there.

I did go for a drive though. I drove west on 71 and took the reverse route hoping to cross paths on the way.
I was doing fine until just after Dripping Springs and then I had an encounter with a suicidal deer. The deer was headed straight for the side of my car, it took out my diver's side mirror and went over the top of the car across the cockpit. The only part of the door that was damaged was the mounting point for the mirror and it was shattered. There are some hoof skid marks on my windshield, but no damage. I got a minor scratch on my head from another hoof. I thought my car was destroyed, but to my amazement it was just the mirror and mounting point.
I feel lucky, but a bit depressed.

Ha, no kidding...
Actually, that can't be a good sign...I check EliseTalk enough that I was wondering how a thread was created and got two pages of posts before I even noticed it :P

Also resurrected for apparently no reason.
