coming home from watching DA BEARS!!! Destroy DET this afternoon, and a lady runs right into my lane almost on top of me...I slam the brakes, and the car behind me had to hit his and swerve to the left lane to not hit me... WTF
I get next to the lady at the next light, the top and windows are out of the way, I hit mute and yell at the lady I said "WHAT THE F! HOW DID YOU NOT SEE ME!!! I AM IN A BRIGHT GREEN CAR!!!" she said sorry get over it... to avoid A situation i sprinted past her and got as far away as fast as I could... but she didnt even care I got a sorry because I made a scene... what would she have said if she did crush me? or I get rear-ended because she couldnt drive?!!!
sorry it is the first REAL close call I have had...and I am a littel freaked still, one of the selling points for KG was that there should be no problem seeing me EVER!

Dude - too scary. jmfangio is over here and was in the process of telling me how he almost got nailed by a chick on her cell phone - TWICE!!! (same woman). Then I hit refresh and there was your thread. It's getting scary out there.
KG may be more visible, but for real visibility, you need an Arqray single tip!!!

in the past 5 weeks, 3 cars have changed lane into me, but all 3 times I was paying attention and knew they couldn't see me. I usually back off a little so if they swerved into my lane, my front would still have space behind their rear. Or I give it some gas and get ahead of them so they can clearly see me... I'm a very observant driver (and person in general) and am always scanning the road to know where cars are and what they are doing... guess its a good skill to have when getting an elise. Of course, it only takes 1 time to ruin that track record (knock on wood)

P.S. the one thing that would make a Krypton Green Elise more visible is to have a mohawk sticking out above the t-top.

2002 Sexterra: Glad that you are okay. When I drove an ATV on the sand dunes near San Luis Obispo I noticed all the vehicles had little orange safety flags attached to the rear. I have considered seeing whether it would be possible to put one in the Elise. Maybe attach it to the "cup holder" between the seats?
Taxcheat: I know that Focus on the Family is in Colorado, but that still doesn't explain this:

I doubt that would help with the Elise - people aren't looking for that.
As an example, many years ago, I was driving my motorcycle in the fast lane of the freeway. The car to my right looked over at me, and started to change lane. Only when I blasted my horn did he realize I was there (it really startled him). He was looking for a car, and the bright red and chrome motorcycle with the rider wearing a bright orange helmet and bright blue jacket wasn't a car, so it didn't register in his mind - he didn't "see" me...
