This video was done by myself and two other friends. It is a Lotus Elise S1 135, which we took for a fast run down our private test track. The gentleman driving is a racing driver in the Castrol-Haugg championship in Europe. (He takes the racing lines on this video)

As far as I know, that 2.2 liter S2000 engine is a U.S. thing. I'm pretty sure that was not the new engine. The bodywork looked like it was a pre-2004 car too.

My friend who has a S2000 just looked at the video and said that the front fascia indicates that it was a '04 model. But at any rate, the Elise would have passed the S2000 given another lap or two.

The M3 CSL is a lightweight version with lighter wheels and lots of carbon fiber goodies. Not available in the USA. I also think the Elise would pass the S2K. Be neat to see the '05 versions of both go at it.
