My Girlfriend is Jealous of my Elise!

A&Q about Lotus

Q:
My gilrfriend gets very upset whenever I decide to drive my Elise to work She thinks that I am going to meet someone for an afternoon delight or something. I told her that it would be nearly impossible to get an afternoon delight in the Elise but she thinks I am pretty nimble I guess Whenever we get into an argument she threatens to flatten my tires in the Elise. I think she really feels threatened by the car
I was wondering if anyone else is suffering from the same problem that I have? If she doesn't get over this soon I will be forced to replace her with an Exige S
A:
Yes... she is now an ex-girlfriend
A:
What did you say about your ex-girlfriend?
A:
Damn! Beat me to it!
A:
My girlfriend doesn't understand these types of people when I tell her about these threads.. If they this insecure to feel threatened by a bloody car they will always feel threatened by something. If you are being serious about her threats and not sarcastic, in my case it would be an ex.

+1. (Actually fiance.) Right now it's manifesting itself in the car. Later it will be something else. Say goodnight, Gracie.
A:
Try to ignore it. Don't react to her comments. It's her issue, not yours. If it doesn't go away, maybe she will. You'll be better off.

While I can understand some women having issues with the car (my wife did, big time) but it's just that, their issues. My wife is now quite OK with the car, still doesn't get it, but she's over her stuff.
A:
Which do you have stronger feelings for, the girlfriend or the car?

My wife had the same problem with the car!! The girls like it.
Little did she know you have more DUDES hanging out of their cars saying "Man nice car" What kind of car is that"?? I think the car is relly a dude magnet...
A:
I think there is a pattern starting. 1st she was jealous of my new puppy and then my car. Next it will be the chick I meet out every afternoon I take out the Elise
I think she has to go before she kills my car.
A:
I also find a lot of grandma's seem to like it. I'm not sure why but in the last few weeks I've had four or five say "nice car" (imagine Marge Simpson voice). Mind you I've also had carfulls of nubile young women start yelling at me (or should I say the car). Luckily the g/f wasn't in the car for that. My 10 year got a kick out of it though.
A:
Before you dump her can we see a picture of her first?
A:
Definitely get a lot more looks driving this car.

I was driving home last night and this car pulls along side of me and this hot young chick rolls down the passenger window and says "My mom loves your car" ... this is what the car is getting me ... the mothers .... I want the daughters!!!
A:
Did you see the mom? She could have been a MILF.
A:
I've been saving money for an elise the last couple months and consequently have been eatting tuna fish three times a day. The girlfriend was upset the other night that I never take her out to dinner anymore and asked which I love more, her or some 'stupid car'. I told her the car.
A:
My wife says I love my lotus more than her. I tokd her my lotus means more to me than her, mine, or my kids lives put together.

that didnt go over very well.

My opinion

If a person feels threatened by a car it will probably not change. She doesn't trust you. If there isn't a strong trust factor, it will always be something that is threatening to come between you. The Elise is only a catalyst for testing loyalty. It is not the car itself, it is what it represents. Freedom?

If you feel that you have to choose between the car and the girl, then your devotion to the girl is not serious.

z You sound like our marriage counsler.
A:
I could get in a lot of trouble commenting on this thread. I will refrain except for this:

Dump the girlfriend, but before you do just tell her the car is too small for sex, but with the seat all the back a hummer can be had. Be prepared to run.
