Hmm... you can get Audi keys/remotes uncut on ebay for $50.00, I wonder if they could cut a lotus pattern on them! I could transplant the module and wham! instant glam keys!

It takes less than five minutes to pull the antenna wire out of the taped harness and get a 40-50' range. There's a huge thread about it here, and it's even easier than they make it sound.

Which is why it's so short to begin with. Apparently there's a big insurance savings in the UK if the car has such a "safe" alarm. This is also why they come with the automatic immobilizer re-arming turned on. (if you haven't turned that off yet there's a thread about that too. Takes maybe ten minutes.)
