A&Q about Lotus
Q:
Interesting development here. Ran across this today. Look down at the bottom of the page, says it's in development for both the Elise and Exige. Interesting....

Whoaaaa! Yes!
Check out my thread about building a custom kit around this unit here:
I'd rather have Jackson Racing do it

I recieved an e mail from a company that released a 2 speed automatic transmission for the Rotrex unit at the SEMA show. It spins the centrifugal blower fast for low end and midrange and slows it down to limit boost and parasitic drag at higher rpm's. This could make centrifugal blowers more attractive than Lysholm units for all around performance and packaging.

Almost all Jackson Racing Superchargers have been CARB Exempt as well, except for those when they have a low psi street version, and a higher psi race version.

CARB certification would be

However, it says 2005. I wonder if they will have anything out for the 2006 - 2007 folks.
A:
the pump is the easy part - the ecu is the hard part.

Yes, being a Cali resident, this would be helpful.
I've only heard good things about Jackson Racing products since the 80's when I lusted to supercharge my 88 CRX Si.

6 psi. I wonder if they're using an intercooler. Why don't some of you SoCal guys do some snooping.

This is probably the best news so far for those wanting a blower. Jackson has some actual expertise, not bs. I think the Rotrex is worth serious consideration. While it's not a perfect solution, you should get a cooler air charge with it vs the eaton. It should spool up quicker vs a turbo and more importantly, I would tend to believe the combustion temps and exhaust temps would be lower than the turbo. The exhust doesn't get the "corked up" effect of a turbo. Of course there's the old bugaboo, the engine management.
I think '06 owners should send them an email and tell them if you're interested.

mmm...... my expirience with stuff from Oscar Jackson isn't THAT great.

Disclaimer: Long SpyderChat board technical discussion. Wonderful gentleman has plunked a Rotrex on a 1ZZFE... and he's going to tackle a 2ZZGE...
280whp... 220wlb/ft. of torque on the 1ZZFE... estimating 325whp on the 2ZZGE.
Lengthy reading:

I wonder what kind of engine management they (Jackson Racing) plan on using.

I emailed them and that was one of the questions I asked them. I'll let you know if I get a response.

My question as well. And why is the Civic's application running so more boost than all the others???

Because if you grenade one they're cheap to replace?

Because they run lower compression.
