A&Q about Lotus
Q:
Hi everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've been "lurking" for upwards of 6 months. I couldnt bring myself to post until I had it in my driveway. You might recognize it. Its Mike's(evomind).
Initial Impression: This automobile is such an incredible leap forward for me in speed, looks, build quality , and in comfort comparatively. Acura is a great quick comfortable car yadda yadda blahblah but it lacks the character. And if you think this car has interior noise and quirks I invite you to experience 70's Lancia. It feels extremely solid. I love seeing wheel arches out the front glass. Its getting cold here so I ran the heater....no problems there. Im still getting used to 3rd. Its not just straight up, its kinda slightly right then up. Brakes are beyond adequate. Opened it up and scared myself a bit. What a noise! WHAT A GREAT CAR!!!!!!!
I wont go into my lifes story, but I assure you that Ive been waiting for this day for a loooong time. I wasnt sure what to expect. In my limited experience Ive driven lots of average cars. You know what I mean by that. I never turn down a chance to drive something new no matter how awful. I love driving. Ive ridden in a few exotics. Nothing too crazy. My new game that Ive been playing while perusing car listings is "what could I have gotten instead, for the same money." 100%...absolutely nothing as interesting and beautiful and quick as this little car.
OK! So I took the car around the block again and everyone snaps thier neck to get a look. When I came to my last stop sign a kid passing in front of me on his bicycle looks, opens his mouth, and falls right over!!! Also the guy in front of me spent so much time in the rear view mirror he ran the stop sign and almost got T-Boned! Then!!!!...... when I pulled up to my place a friend of a friend said to me "OMG Maserati!!! Are you married?" Then I met my neighbors for the first time!!! This is all in a matter of 5 minutes. Unbelievable. This thing is a serious attention whore and I love it!
ANYWAY
A very special thanks goes to Mike(evomind) for firstly being such a cool guy while I got my financing in order and secondly for being completely honest about the condition of this car in every way.....he wasnt lying ITS PERFECT! THANK YOU MIKE! The ones on the lot here brand new arent as clean.
Another big thank you to Art my driver from Cars Towing and Transport 219-864-0400. Talk about professional and smooth transaction! I specified nylon straps and great care to be taken as its small, low, and fragile. They picked up my car one day early and delivered it early to. When it arrived (a few hours ago) nylon straps in place AND the guy was super slim and very friendly..not anything like my nightmare about scary fat beer delivery man. Also I got a view of the underside and it was practically new.
I took many pics and videos. Since Art called me when he was around the corner I actually made a video of the truck turning onto my street. The sound of the semi is drowned out by my childish laughter. It is so true what they say about the stupid grin that wont go away while operating this thing.
Here is a pic or two and more to come once I calm down a bit from the exhilaration of getting something I longed for so badly.
Lastly, Ive been here awhile and I have to say I think this is a great community because of the people that comprise it.

Congrats! I've personally been in that car! I was in Chicago on business and Mike was kind enough to show me Chicago! That's the kind of great people you meet on Elise Talk. KG brothers unite!

That avatar is an AWSOME pic of yourself!
Welcome to the forums.

Congratulations! Hopefully I can experience what you are feeling pretty soon. Ive been lurking as well, but I just started posting right away even though I dont have an Elise yet . I want to get fully prepped about every little detail before I can finally afford one after I graduate (and hopefully get a good job).
A:
Congratulations
And now the bad news... the silly grin doesn't go away
A:
Welcome and congratulation. If you like attention, you are not going to get much better then being seen in a KG Elise.

Welcome to the forums.
actually, isn't his avatar from the german car show that featured a "comparo" between the Exige S and a Bentley Continental GT? I saw it youtube or google video once from a link on this forum. If recall, it's the big dude who could barely fit inside the Exige S by himself to begin with, let alone with the skinny guy driving it, and it was a riot to watch his reaction as the passenger of the Exige S being tossed about.
btw congrats ritcci on the new ride!

Welcome, Richie! It must have been hard to reserve your first post for the car's arrival. Most of us posted long before ever getting one. Usually something along the lines of "It's killing me to wait!!!!" Congrats-KG with stripes...they'll notice you from the space shuttle! Nice to read a good car shipper story, too. Have fun.
