Importance of having a clean vehile pre and post service

A&Q about Lotus

Q:
What a day! Usually follow above principle ,but today in a hurry and wouldn't you know. Went for landing gear repair, didn't wash plane prior to service. Inspection prior to take off essential normal, flight uneventful, until after landing , fixed gear partially collapsed from repaired strut nitrogen leak, passenger wing dimpled x 2 from improper pushing per service personel and skin over the main dimpled by idiot who removed the strut.
At least didn't drive the Elise today and experience another mishap. Worst part need to wait till Monday as service is closed. Certainly learned a lesson that I thought I learned in the past-Clean vehile, inspect the work, inspect for other damages!!!

Unfortunately, if you want it done right, you have to do it yourself!!!
A:

Unfortuanately, you're screwed if you're not your own A & P ( aviation mechanic ) and you don't know anyone closely enough to trust their work.

Yeah, but just because I'm not A&P doesn't mean I can't doublecheck.
