A&Q about Lotus
Q:
Recently, I suspect that I barely escaped what would have been at minimum a very nasty accident. I was driving, in my Elise, on favorite a hilly and curvy section of road. My wife was with me, we were going out to dinner and I was not going fast. The road is two lanes each way and just as we were in the apex of a bend, in the outside lane, we hear a HUGE howl of squealing tires. My first split-second thought is “there is no way my tires should be making this noise I am not sliding, I’m not going nearly fast enough”. In the next split second I realize that it is not my car making the noise. My eyes darted over to the inside lane and it being at night and dark out all I see is BIG VEHICLE. In split second number three I slow and the thing goes past us, continuing to slide across the midline, it wobbles back and forth as the driver tries to recover and bring in back into his lane. While he is executing this maneuver the vehicle is swaying on its suspension and I can now see what type of vehicle it is … a Hummer H2. I watch dumfounded as they guy slows somewhat but continues to weave in and out of traffic.
On a some what related topic, I have noticed that there are two types of vehicles that appear to want to get me to race them on the road, much more frequently than any other types: BMW M3s (just the M3s) and large-new-American pick-up trucks (I live in Texas).

I'm confused - are you new to TX or just new to this experience?
