A&Q about Lotus
Q:
According to our buds at SELOC (links to pics on page 2 of the thread):
Bummer, part of thorough testing though, I reckon...:
A:
For those without SELOC membership, the pics can be found here clicky. If the link doesn't work, copy/paste this whole thing: http://www.d-racing.com/d-racing/gal...rancorchamps)/

Just another reason I will not do a track day in the rain.
A:
Doesn't look too bad.
But it is the only one!!!
Chasing a Cup car with an expert driver with racing rains on a track they didn't know well. That's the story.
We all know just how great 48's are in the rain. Even new ones.
Who was driving it?
Mark, do you have any Circuit Car clams in stock?
A:
Eau Boy.
A:
Did you see all the other cars wrecked that day?
A:
If they have the lighter forged wheels available to them, why would they choose to run with the heavier cast wheels?
And - if you haven't done any track days in the rain you don't know what you're missing. Separates the good guys from the great guys. I think about 60% of my track time has been in the rain, though simply because of circumstance, not on purpose. Still, it's great fun. Everything you do has to be that much more precise.
A:
...a bit off topic... but man that's one cool picture gallery setup!

A:
+1 on the picture gallery organizer.
I like the exige wheels on the Circuit Car. They are certainly not the lightest but maybe they has the right tire of choice and those just happen to be the wheels that matched the rubber. I think it would be beneficial for a wider wheel for a larger contact patch on the rear; then order the correct 48's.
A:
Well, they do always test the cars to destruction.
A:
2nd shot of a bashed up Lotus standing on it's head in one week. Other one was at a Goodyear dealer. Yikes.

It happens to the best of them....................That's why they call it TESTING!!!!............
A:
Has there been confirmation that they're going to build the circuit car for the public?

They're denying it, so probably 2008...
A:
Have you noticed that even though the car looks to have been pretty badly smacked up it's body work appears to have dislodged cleanly. If this was an Elise it would be a damn site messier. Any thoughts as to why ?

It will be built and offered for sale in Europe. I am trying to convince them to offer it for sale here but they are not sure if it will be feasible. We should know soon..................Blah Blah Blah.......I know it's been heard before but that's the story and I'm sticking to it..............

That's too bad. But as Mark rightfully points out - that's testing! I saw the original at Hethel in March at it looks better in the flesh.
Looking forward to seeing some of these sweet machines Stateside. Keep the pressure on Mark!
A:
Any reason why they are using the older difuser? I also notice the Nurburgring sticker, has anyone seen it testing there yet? Maybe the same time they were there with the 200x Esprit?
