A&Q about Lotus
Q:
Not a full shot but CO in its glory (the sun) with dark grey RAC monolite wheels and gas cap powdercoated to match (diffuser too, but you can't see that)
A:
IMO, the elise/exige itself is loud enough. Thats why I decided with Starlight Black. My insurance lady says one of the considerations for rates is the color. Had I gotten a red or CO color my premiums would have been higher. WHY? More exposure to law enforcement.
But then again, there are people like my cousin who says "a car like that needs to be in yellow or orange".
I'm happy with my SB..........as I'm washing it every week ugh.

When I orderd my Exige, I *almost* went with CO. Brilliant color in the sun, but I opted for the opaque Ardent Red. I love red cars, and opaques in general. But there is something about that lifestyle paint scheme that I'm still jealous of...
Cheers,
Skottoman

The most visible colors are (in that order)
- KG
- SY
- CO
CO is the fastest color though, nobody has ever contested that.
Speaking of colors, I'd love to see a flat black or a DeLorean-style brushed alum.

If you haven't seen CO in bright sunlight, you don't know why it's the only choice...
A:
Carl,
Get the CO "S" -- you'll love it.

The second pic in the first post comes close...

Love the CO, such an iconic color on the Exige. More visible when around large vehicles. There are so few of these cars that even if every Exige were CO, they still wouldn't be too common.

You need to find an new insurance company. I've never been asked the color of my car, and it doesn't affect the rates.
As for Chrome Orange attracting the police - they sure do stare at my car (usually with their mouth open and a puzzled "what's that?" look on their face), but none have pulled me over for anything. But more of the SUV drivers see it compared to my black Miata when I'm driving down the road. One of the main reasons that I bought CO was for the visibility (that and it's my wife's favorite color), and it does appear to be great for that. Looks great too!

It's popular for a reason...

I agree!

I disagree
I got pulled by a cop that said (get this) I just had to see what kind of car this was and can I sit in it and can you take a picture for me.. I said no problem. Would not of been cool at all if I was trying to get somewhere without being late..

If you are going to drive it on public roads, then choose whichever of the bright colors is your favorite, just be sure to choose a bright one in my opinion. These cars are so small and low that a bright color just gives you one more opportunity to be noticed. And CO is a great one ! I chose Ardent Red.

Here's my Chrome Orange car shot during a pretty midwestern sunset by my buddy So Kikuya.

Yup, agreed. I do like that color after seeing RacyTracy's CO Elise in person.
A:
Carl is doing it -- CO Exige S. Car should be in his garage today.

I love my CO Elise but I also love Krypton Green...
