A&Q about Lotus
Q:
I was looking at the sector111 splitter and man, that thing is expensive at $1000+. I am looking for splitter to safeguard my clam and of course, looks, however at $1000+, that's a very expensive splitter.
Does anyone know any alternative ? or the CF one from sector111 the only one available at this point?
A:
Forcedfed has one for less than half the money. I love mine.

I love my ForcedFed one as well. VERY sturdy. Very noticable downforce!
Note: Do NOT merely use self tapping screws for the 5 auxiliary mounting points. They will NOT hold the splitter on at 125+ mph. I have first hand track experience of this (splitter now has a couple small scratches on the lip)...

cool, I will check it out. now how about side scoop like exige? Sector111 has it for $750, still too expensive IMHO.
Any alternative?

$500 at eliseusa. Don't know about their quality, but I have the rear metal letters from them and am happy.

Elise-Shop.com has both fiberglass (with a kevlar outer layer) and CF available. I just received the CF and it's very light and well-finished with a UV coating. I've purchased from them (Yvo Tuk) before and their customer service is great. Yvo keeps one informed and is very good about answering questions. Oh, and the CF splitter was $435 including shipping!
BTW, I think it's the same one Ivan has on his AR Elise. Ditto the side scoops.

Yours looks really nice. I remember seeing it when you first posted and thinking "I've gotta have one." My problem with such a piece is that the ones sold by Elise-Shop, Sector 111, etc. all have the proper contour to fit the front underside with no adaptation required, and also have known aerodynamics (+20 pounds downforce for the one I purchased). If matched with a rear wing or spoiler "extension," it is possible to balance the car as well as the Exige.
The GUT splitter and wing (available from Sector 111) are just such a balanced set and are also very nicely integrated into the style of the car. I paid about the same to Elise-Shop (plus shipping, of course) as for your splitter, and got a perfect fit on the first try. I also got a real CF piece with a UV-protective finish. All without the effort necessary to special-order a non-stocked item that must be made to order.

lotusport, can you post pics of your splitter? To me, elise-shop splitter looks very similar to the forcefed splitter.
Can any of you post pics close up front for the Force Fed splitter? then front far away?
Thanks.
A:
I have the Force Fed Half carbon and it looks identical to the one in the picts above but it has a real Carbon Look on the exterior
this is not a great picture of my car but you can see the carbon lip

Hi gameson,
I don't have the forcefed or the elise-shop splitter. Mine is the elise-parts.com version.
It's from the UK, but it looks identical to the other two you mention.
It fit perfectly, contours matchly correctly. Easy to install, about 1 hour.
Price was $325. I picked mine up at elise-parts.com in the UK, so I saved on shipping. Sent it home as checked luggage, actually bought two, the other was for raggedy1 on this forum. I know they do ship to the US.
Here are some pics installed.

Is that unpainted?

Yes, I installed it just the way it came.
It has a clear gel coat finish, so it can be used as is. I may paint it this winter, but for now I left it alone.

elise-parts.com is under construction?
waydui, how do you feel about the splitter? do you notice the downforce? Or just merely cosmetic?
if it's similar design to the other two, then I am going to pick up the least expensive one.

Sorry, wrong web address, should be eliseparts.com, no hyphen.

I noticed the downforce effect at above 80 MPH. Front feels like it is "settling" above those speeds. Feels more stable and planted in the front. I don't think I need a rear wing at this point, but as my driving speeds increase, I may change my mind!
I really like the splitter. It fits perfectly, very lightweight, well-made. All necessary hardware came with it, all Stainless Steel. While it does lower the clearance, I haven't had any issues scraping it, although I am careful.
Overall, I thought it was a good deal and eliseparts was great to work with. Ask for Joy or Ian.

I just looked at it. It's made of fiber glass, right? not carbon fiber? i can't find the carbon fiber one

Yes, it's made of fiber glass, not carbon fiber.
I don't think eliseparts offers a carbon fiber version for the Elise. They do have carbon fiber for the Exige.

For FF front spoiler owner, does it come pre-drilled holes? How did you install yours?
Thanks
