A&Q about Lotus
Q:
Whats everyone getting on their stock tire without the sports package? also when its time to replace can you go aftermarket like Michelin(if they make the size). Thanks
A:
About 8500 - 9500 miles out of the AD07s. It's really dependant on what kind of driving you do though (how spirited, autox, track days, etc). I don't expect my next set to last as long.
A:
wow. thats pretty low. How about daily driving no autox, no trackdays? do both the front and rear go about the same time?
A:
If you think that's low, wait till the other replies... I think 8k-9k miles in the high range for the AO48s.
I got 13k out of the AD07's (non-sports pack)
The rears went first. I think the fronts wear down at half the rate, they were still really good when my rears were bald.
A:
I got lots of mileage out of my ad07s.
A:
I don't think that's too bad, but if you use the car as a daily driver, then it might be. Also, I will be replacing my tires before they are completely bald.
You can get 20k miles out of them if you drive a lot of highway and generally don't do a lot of hard driving. My mother gets over 20k miles out of Michelin Pilot Sports on her car, which are very similar to the AD07.
Whether the front or rears go first...depends on driving style. I would expect the rears to go first for most people, especially driving on the street or accelerating from a standstill often. If your driving style is such that you generate a lot of understeer by plow through corners or autox a lot, it's possible to go through the fronts first. My rears are slightly more worn than my fronts, so I will replace the set of 4 at the same time.
A:
i got 25000 out of mine rears. fronts are still good. no track days
A:
I have 12k on mine with (4 track and 3 AutoX) I expect them to last another 2k.
A:
11k
1 autox, many many canyons. Rears are gone were at the bars and the fronts have maybe 2k to go till they get to the bars, but I'm replacing the whole set.
A:
Aargh... had two thread open at once and posted reply on the wrong one... anyway see the one How are your Advans wearing which I just inadvertently bumped....
or this
A:
I have never AutoX'd my car (yet), and am running on 15000 with spirited daily driving. I have Ad07's and standard (touring ) suspension. It is time to change the rear tires. My fronts still seem good, but I have some crazy vibration over 75-80 mph.

A:
13K for me. I expect a bit less out of this 2nd set. I've been a very bad boy.
A:
7000miles and my 07's are pretty close to toast- I'm trying to squeeze one more DE out of them.
A:
I've got roughly 9k on mine w/14 track days and the rears are almost at the wear bars. I figure they've done me pretty well...
A:
for those who use this car as a daily driver, as i intend to do, do you still use the same model tires, or is there a set out there that lasts longer?
A:
14,000 miles on the rears and it's time to replace them. Fronts still have some life after 24,000 miles.
Sticking with the Yokohamas, purchased from our friendly sponsor.
A:
2700 miles, one autox, one open track day, several sprited romps through the hills. Most of the remaining miles are freeway miles, getting to and from the good stuff. I'm guessing that I'm going to get one more track day, MAYBE another out of the rears. Fronts are OK.
A:
5185 miles - 40% highway, 40% city driving, 20% fun fun fun!
Two HPDE's
6 autocrosses
Front's 60% left
Rear's 20% left
A:
At 9500 miles -- 1400+/- on the track -- my AD07 rears are almost toast. I figure 1000 more miles at best. The fronts are looking very, very good.
A:
6000 miles. Rears done, down to the wear bars.
Fronts could have been pushed
to 8k, but they were growing harder from the
heat cycling and losing grip. No
track use, just street and the occasional
canyon run.
It's too risky to keep the old ones when new tires are
cheap insurance against disaster.
A048 rears are currently in short (no) supply.
I'm on Goodyear F1s now.
