A&Q about Lotus
Q:
Has anyone autocrossed a FF 275 car?
Any issues?
If yes, how did you add weight for SM2 or is there a way to say to hell with PAX and/or tophies and just run your car without weight?
A:
yes.
XP is the answer.

I'd like to do some regional events next year like Wendover and Packwood. Can I run XP there? Running in XP, does that mean basically everything goes and it has a Pax multiplier of 1.000?
A:
Not everything goes, but an awful lot. PAX is nowhere near that high.
The good news is the car has to weigh pretty close to stock, so you don't need to add a bunch of ballast.
Plus, the wheels and slick tires are pretty affordable - on par with Hoosiers in price and the 15x7 wheels are about $500 for a set of 4.
For the amount of grip you'll be seeing, you'll definitely need something better in the shock department, and a LSD!

Great... more money. Thanks Robert.

IIRC, the minimum weight is 1,870 for XP. Should be a snap in the Elise, and adding gas could always throw you over.

Thanks, I was reading the rules and was completely confused by the weight calculation in XP. Something about 1200 lbs + 200 lbs/liter but forced induction makes it 1.4 X actual displacement but elswhere listed as rounded to the nearest liter. Who writes this crap?
A:
The rounded-off verbage is going away for next year.
A:
So am I to believe that nobody with a Forcedfed 275 car has autocrossed it?
A:
I believe Robert said yes to having autocrossed it. I have also. It is on Fred's car.

Oh, sorry, I missunderstood.
Any issues with performance of the turbo? It seems like people are very satisfied at the track but an autocross is a lot more hectic. Did you like it, not like it or have any other comments regarding it's performance? Mind you, I'm not trying to build a nationally competitive car, just want more power for the track and street but will autocross locally and regionally. Thanks.
