New here on the forum, just bought my 06 Elise - Graphit Grey, Touring/Sport, Traction Control... awesome ride...
Installed Sector 111 mirror and Blaupunct steering wheel controls and i-pod adapter earlier this week... see below some pics.
Any other Members from the North Carolina Area on the forum? (live in Cary, close to Raleigh, NC)
Looking forward to do some Group Drives, Track Days... Car Talk....

I'm in Charlotte on weekends and know of one in Hickory and another in Charlotte... I'm sure we'll plan a meet sometime soon. I'd love to get up and go for a mountain drive. Congrats on the buy!

Welcome to the group! There are several of us in the NC area. I live in the Charlotte area if I ever finish this job from hell and get to come home! I've been in Houston for 3 weeks now and at the rate things are going, I will probably be here until Thanksgiving! At least I can dream of all the goodies I can get with the extra dough! My wife takes my baby out for a spin every weekend and tells me about it since I'm not there myself!

Welcome to the forum! Hope you have better luck with the Blaupunkt iPod adapter than I did, never worked right for me so I ditched it and went with an Alpine head unit and it's iPod cable.

Small world - I'm in Conover. Looks like the Hickory Elise/Exige population is really going to grow - this will be the third one now. We'll definitely have to meet up sometime. I can't wait to check out the S! When is it coming?

I live in Cameron and drive to Raleigh Tues and Friday most weeks. There are two others in Sanford and Maxton but do not drive up to Raleigh.

I'm not for NC, but not far away in Richmond, VA. Check out VIR which is about half way between us. I've been there three times and it is a GREAT TRACK for the Lotus. I intend to join VIR Club in February and hope to see more Lotus' there.
If you are not interested in joining there are a number of open events like the Fall Fling sponsored by Synergy Racing. We got 2 hours of driving time per group for two days. What a blast, except of course for the Corvette Z06 trains on the straights.
I know that you'll love your Elise. I have had mine since June. Driving it is the best mood changer I know.

could you share a bit more about the steering wheel stereo control... i know, it's a race car, but i have become somewhat acustomed to such a "luxury". What stereo? Is it an aftermarket purchase for a stock stereo associated with a given trim level? Is it wireless and just is adhered to the steering wheel? Nice find. I like the red interiors since there isn't so much red in total compared to other cars.

the steering wheel control goes with the Blaupunkt radio.. is a 50 USD investment and 30 minutes install..... really sweet, has volume control, source swith, move between tracks.. works also with the IPOD.... had steering wheel controls on my earlier cars... once you had it once you never want to miss it again.... highly recommended..
