Yeah, not sure why it does vs. being a female.

Now, older?? How do you know how old I am?
(My b-day is this Sunday)

What's funny is that, when I was married I was actually a more dangerous driver because I spent more time angry and didn't really care so much about dying... then I get divorced and my rates go up while the blood pressure goes down

I thought you'd mentioned your age in another thread... I'm too lazy/tired right now to go find it. Or, maybe I'm wrong or just making stuff up again!

Anyhow, glad you got a better answer on the rates for ya. 'Bout time you had something work out for you with the car!

So I totalled a Boxster when I was 23 and got a check for 32k and then my insurance on my SC430 went up to 7k a year. I was with Esurance when I totaled my car and stayed with them until I got my Lotus. I went with Progressive. It's now been two years and I switched last year to Ameriprise, which is available to Costco members, and then I turned 25 and my insurance is like $1600/year. I really recommend Ameriprise though. I haven't been able to find anyone cheaper and I spent days calling lots of companies and brokers. I think it just dropped some more when an accident dropped off in April too. My total comes off in January. I can't wait to see my new rates.

I think double that's reasonable considering this car is fricking DANGEROUS!

All I can say is - enjoy every penny you spend on Elise - she's no cheap date but she's got the goods!!

Just got my quote for my (hopefully soon to be delivered) Exige S... and the rate is... wait for it..

$601 per year

That is full coverage, mid-level limits, $500 ded, with a multi-car discount, 4Runner as daily driver, and Lotus listed as a "pleasure vehicle". My other car, a '98 4Runner is an additional $269 per year. They said that although that rate is based on the '06 model, I am in what they consider a "high-rate" car (or something to that effect), and that once they have the 07s logged in, the rate will only go up a few dollars if any.

I can't believe I can insure 2 cars, one basically a street-legal racecar, for about $72 per month.. in Los Angeles!!!!

Oh yeah.. Wawanesa, BTW. They're awesome!

With allstate, slighty under 100 per month..
