Lotus Logo Question

A&Q about Lotus

Q:
What does the "AB" represent in the Lotus logo?

Sorry if this has been discussed here before (it probably has, but I couldn't find it).
A:
Actually it's ACBC
Anthony Colin Bruce Chapman.

And the longer time goes by, more people dream up more rubbish. Old farts like me, who were in England when Colin was racing Mk III and VI, know darn well that "Lotus" had nothing to do with unsold cars, and ACBC didn't include Allan brothers.

Some dickhead is sure to suggest it means As Created By Chapman, or some other drivel and start discussion.

BTW, anyone who quotes Wikipedia is asking for trouble. I've lost count of the inaccuracies I read there.

Isn't it fun though?

Nothing to do with lot unsold? I'm curious then where you think Lotus came from Roger? I know no one really knows 100% (or so it seems), but just curious since I thought most people had accepted the lot u/s or just "hey thats a good name" methods
A:
Lotus. Lot Unsold. Sign put on Chapman's first car he tried to sell. True story.

But, the LOT UnSold story is one of the oldest stories. I first heard it over 30 years ago when Colin was still alive - and he neither confirmed not denied the story. It seems to be a reasonable source of the name, based on the early history of the company and Colin's activities. But it could just as easily be pure fantasy. Or it could be true. Personally, I find it credible and tend to believe it more than other stories, but I know full well that it could just as easily be totally wrong.
A:
Nah....it's true.

Well....that's what I heard.
