In the photo below, what is this piece in the bodywork? I think this is a Japanese Elise but I've never noticed this on any other cars.
A:
It appears to be the attachment point for the old version of the soft top - similar to the one used on the S1 Elise.

It's a softtop anchor/attachment. THey call these "longtails."

Only the early S2s had the long tail tops, the current cars all use the same top as ours. I always liked the look of the old design better, but apparently it didn't seal very well.
