Just a quick note to introduce MVP Track Time to fellow car nuts. We are just getting out of the box so I hope this isn't out of line. I hope you'll visit us at www.MVPTrackTime.com
Happy Motoring!

Good luck.
Moved to track and technique.

Thanks Babak. We hope to come to your neck of the woods in September for a day at Hearltand Park.

Make sure you book it early. Sept is packed full due to Runoffs. Quite a bit of test and tune done the month before runoffs by the formula atlantic guys.
A:
I notice your website says North America. Are you planning anything up in the Toronto area or is that more long term.
A:
Good luck, Mark! Talk soon! (I have what may be my last tracks of the year this weekend... then I am free and clear to "go back to work").

We've tentatively held September 17th at Heartland Park. They are getting us all the details (rental, insurance, catering, etc.) next week after Ray returns from SEMA.

I don't think the 2007 SCCA Calendar is out. But going by where the Solo/Pro Solo fell this year it's a good guess that date will be around one of those events. I did a search on both SCCA and HPT sites and didn't find any advance calendar of events.

Our September 17, 2007 date was essentially the one time slot left open around the major Heartland Park events. The calendar fills quick with Pro Solo, Run Offs, NHRA, etc.

Do you think that may cut down on the number of people there? Some may be at either event and not be able to make it.
A:
I don't think it will have much bearing on our turn out. Most of the track day attenedees aren't traditional racers (SCCA) or autocrossers. They just want to get their car on the track.
Recent changes (rennovation) at Hearltand Park receives rave reviews. One of our instructors suggested if we must drop an event for 2007, drop anything other then Heartland Park. He is very impressed with the new facilities and track. Demand has seemingly been high for HP since they've cleaned it up. Guess we will see.
I've a lot of contacts in the Kansas City clubs (PCA, BMWCCA, Audi KC, etc) that will likely join us. A number of St. Louis people in like clubs want to attend as well.

Nice. If it is close enough to a national SCCA event, I will try to make it.

Feff, the new track is great. I've been lucky and had the chance to drive it about twice a month from april to sept during the weds night open track nights ($45 to drive from 5p.m. to sundown.)
I would recommend a couple things based on the volume attending. The flow of the track is decidedl different in the short configu (2.1 mile) as it eliminates the caroussel. Most DE's run the long course for fewer laps. The caroussel is fun but it can slow down the grid significantly and in an environment were passing is done only on the straight by a point by that can frustrate people. At the end of the straight there is a 'turn' called alpha zero, it's right after a rise in the course and the apex is now moved back a few feet so that it's not as treacherous but it still feeds the cars into the mouth of the caroussel. My suggestion would be to look at the composition of the cars and drivers and talk to the instructors to see which config would work best. If you need help let me know, I'd be more than happy to help.

Looks good Mark, figure on a large contingency from the Quad Cities for the 6/4 date at ACC.

Jim:
Don't wait too long, we are already nearly 1/3 full for Autobahn. Like last year it will sell out quick.

Will do, I'll notify the group from last June.
