I'm not sure if the narrow 4 points would offer enough strength. There's a large arc that's unsupported. On a whim I took your drawing, rotated it 45 degrees and superimposed it on itself. Looks much like a more common wheel design. But I'm still not sold on how the spokes come to a point, seems like it would concentrate stresses at those locations. But what do I know.

one more pair of spokes and I'd suspect you of being a devil worshipper!

I don't like 2,3,4 spoked wheels.. They just look really odd to me..

Enzo must have sold his soul.

I think the SSR's are 6.5"/7.5", while the RAC Monolites I bought are 7"/8". From the research I did before buying, I don't think anyone made a lighter wheel in the wider size than the RAC's. Also considered were the BBS's, which were a bit heavier, but I understand they make their wheels a little beefier to withstand some impacts, whether from racing or rough streets. I went with the Monolites for a) lightness, b) looks, c) ease of cleaning. They are also very well balanced (before I put Goodyear F-1 GS-D3's on). Outstanding finish and overall quality. I still had a hard time spending almost $3K on four wheels. But once the money was gone, I knew I'd enjoy the benefits of the wheels for a long time.

There is a new TR wheel at tirerack.com that has 8 spokes. They are staggered but look different from anything else I have seen. They are not $400 a set but $400+ each.

It is Elise specific.

Yes, the TR's on TireRack are for Elise. This is the first I've seen them. $2,100 per set thougth. Hopefully silver RAC's are back in stock soon . Even better - if 111 was open a group buy

I really like the stock LSS rims on the Exige, except for the fact that they are not 7" & 8". Just because of this I have to buy new rims. I like the RACs, but the black ones have too much gloss on them. I like the BBS blacks a little less than the RACs, but they are heavier.
A:
The spokes look really strange on those TR's.

I blew a tire a few weeks ago in my 2006 750i. It was raining so I didn't feel like stopping so I drove on it and needed a new 19" rim and tire. $900 for new wheel and tire installed. I don't think $400 is alot at all. I won't even tell you what wheels for my Porsche cost!!!

I knew it was going to be this Weds wheel before the browser window even opened. Agreed. I'd love this wheel for the Elise. I love the RAC monolite, especially in the BMW sizes, I don't like it quite as much for the Lotus. If these Weds were available for ~$500 / per for the Elise... SOLD!
