Just great. Now my left front low beam burned out

A&Q about Lotus

Q:
Well, two weeks after my right front low beam burned out, now my left front went out. It wasn't raining or anything else special. Anyone else having their bulbs burn out so soon?
A:
if one burns out and the other doesn't burn out in short order then something is wrong. they "should" burn out at similar rates unless the manufacturing process is off, or the car has an issues. can't help on your specific question, but i have seen an elise with a tail light out.

Me.

On one of our cars we've already had to install 3 new lights in less than 10,000 miles. 2 right side, one left. They burn out at completely different rates. The passenger side bulb is the worst. I think I made a thread in the electrical section here asking about it but I don't recall what people said.

At 6,000 mi. I have already replaced the right side bulb. I'm sure the left side is coming soon. I found the H1 bulbs at NAPA for $4.36 NAPA branded made by Federal Mogul. IMHO it's not the bulbs but the jarring they get from a stiff suspension and bad roads.

>10,000 miles.
New England roads.
No issues.
Knock on wood.
A:
Our roads here are very good. I'm not sure my problems are rattle related.

I use Silverstars so it gets pricey replacing em'.
A:
Have you measured the voltage at the bulb?
A:
My drivers-side bulb went out the day I got the car. Hadn't had it but an hour-and-a-half and had to schedule an appointment to take it back to the dealer. I'd use the opportunity to upgrade bulbs to HID or Osrams.
A:
A couple of weeks ago, I replaced the pass. side low beam bulb. 10k miles,
2 yrs driving on mostly decent roads (for the East coast).

A:
Your car is saying that it's time for HID...

ewalberg is correct. If one were burning out sooner than the other I'd suspect an electircal issue. I haven't had any headlights go yet but I bet they won't last as long as a typical car with cushy suspension because of the rough ride.
