I can usually get superficial scratches out with waxing the area a few times using a cleaner wax (Zaino works well). My friend's car was keyed from front to back, and I was able to make 90% of it unnoticeable with waxing and a strong buffing arm. Once it goes down to the metal/body, though, you're hosed. Chips in the front are painful and unsightly, make sure you get SS if you haven't already.
