A&Q about Lotus
Q:
just curious.
i want to remove the front badge on the front clam, and was pondering some thoughts before i do so.
i'd assume the badge is attached with some type of adhesive, but is there any mounting holes (what i had on my s2000).
and, does the starshield have go under the badge, or is there a circular spot for the badge?
thanks.
A:
The badge on the right is the original badge. The one on the left is the badge that I replaced it with. I did not have to trim the bolts to fit the replacement badge.
There are two holes in the clam at 9 O’clock and 3 O’clock.
The starshield does not go under the badge.

On my '05, the starshield went all the way under the badge. Yes, two holes in the clam for the badge to align and it is stuck down with double sided sticky foam adhesive.

On my early '05 with Lotus StarShield, there is a hole for the badge. The StarShield is NOT under the badge.

BTW, I hear that dental floss is a good way to get under the badge to remove the glue.

It's also good for cleaning in between your teeth. It's a pity most people don't use it for what it is intended for. Oh well, I'll just have to make more money.

My part time job is as a Pediatric Dentist. The rest of the time I'm driving my Lotus.

I've done it - found the best tool to be an old credit card. Also, be prepared to cut the posts down on back of the badge to ensure a good fit. I used bolt cutters, but they were probably overkill.
