A&Q about Lotus
Q:
i have an 05 elise with a forced fed syst and an accusump. i have sealed the oil lines several times and tried several different sealants, yet everytime i track the car the lines begin leaking again. was wondering what works for other people when sealing the oil line fittings. thank you for your help.
A:
What kind of fitting are they using? AN, Barb and clamp? If you have been using teflon tape get rid of it and use a product called "Rectorseal" it is yellow and comes in a tube and can withstand high pressure and high temps but requires a 24 cure time, I have used this to fix leaks on high pressure oil coolers with excellent results!

thanks i will look into recto seal. where can you buy this? i am using "an" fittings.
A:
correction, I went and found the tube for you! it is called " Rectorseal" pipe thread sealant and it is in a yellow tube and I either got it at Home Depot or the auto parts store - try HD first in the plumbing section. This stuff works - I had leaks in my AN-10 fittings and my filter relocation setup and it fixed it up with no leaks and many track days and high pressure and hot oil!
