A&Q about Lotus
Q:
The main message of this thread to any new owners/potential owners: When you pull up behind somebody leave enough distance so that you can see the drivers head and rearview mirror. Usually this at least 1/2 a car length if you are behind a normal car. And up to a car length or more if it is a jacked up pickup or SUV. And when at any kind of gate parking / toll situation leave even more room because those are the places where people tend to want to back up when they have forgotten their ticket, or remote or the person they called does not answer etc. Pretty much at any bottle neck entry/exit situation I leave enough room so that I will have the time to honk, back up, or if the top is off, stand up and jump up and down waving my arms !

Two patches I had sitting around are on their way. Good luck with the jacket.
Come on, folks! SweetDaddyD has done a fine service to the Lotus Community and ET over the year. Dig deep in that drawer and find those old patches for SweetDaddyD!!!

Thanks for the patches guys. When I make the jacket of course I'll post pics of it here.
Got a call from the body shop today and parts have been ordered. No ETA on their arrival at this time though. I just thought though, since the headlights are already out, jeez, I may as well upgrade the bulbs, at least the low beams, the highs seem fine but the lows are inadequate and after driving this rental with good lights for so long- I know I'm going to feel like I'm driving blind when the get the go cart back. Suggestions? Although I'd love to go HID- it's not in my budget at this time. (Unless they have just become rediculously cheap all of sudden)

I've heard a rumor that Enterprise will be renting Elises in major cities soon. Perhaps this will be a bonus for you guys, since you can demand an apples-to-apples rental for what you had to give up to the crash gods?

SweetDaddyD:
Sorry to hear about this in your car. I have family in ATL and I've always been scared of those soccer moms in their SUVs and minivans down there. I think half of them would have been run off the road up here in Chicago if they drove like that.
I hope you get your car back soon, and hope this never happens again.
BTW, Sector 111 HIDs are only like $425 (cheap!). I remember years back when aftermarket HID kits were more like $2K (cheap!)

Sorry to hear what happened SweetDaddyD You can try your best to avoid most of the idiots on the roads, but one of them will get you eventually.
P.S. Hello Sondra
