A&Q about Lotus
Q:
Has anyone purchased this coat from ebay. I searched for "lotus racing jacket", and I found a black coat with lotus emblems. I'll try to post a pic. Trying to find out if this is a quality jacket.
A:
This jacket sells for about $38.00 plus $20.00 shipping worldwide. It appears to be a lightweight jacket. I hope someone has purchased one, so they can provide an opinion.
A:
It looks sueded, maybe micro fibre?
A:
[sarasm] Does it have enough LOTUS on it? [/sarcasm]
I'd be happy if it was just logo & racing - the big block LOTUS text is extraneous.

Please, they could have totally fit a big LOTUS across the stomach. Slackers.

I bought this jacket, although from a different seller and with different logos.
The jacket is well-made, feels a little like a micro-fiber. Quality garment, zippers engage properly, no threads hanging out, nice feel to the material.
I would suggest ordering one size bigger than you normally wear. I ordered a Large, but it was more like big Medium, about 1/2 size smaller than I expected. Still fits fine, I just like my jackets roomy. It's a lightweight jacket, no heavy lining.
The logos on mine (and yes there are a lot of them) are embroidered in Green, Yellow and White. The jacket you reference has logos in Black and some Yellow. Mine has a full "C" on the Lotus logo, not cut off. Embroidery is very well done.
A "racing" jacket is supposed to have a lot of logos. I like it for what it is. Great Fall jacket for those Saturday drives!
It was $40 plus $20 shipping. Took about 12 days to get to me.
Here is the link to where I got mine. Lots of pictures to compare.

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but your post does bring up a question of interest to me. I have owned several Porsches (996/997) and now an Elise, and I have been tempted to buy clothing with the Porsche or Lotus emblem or name on them, but I never do so. The reason being is that I precieve guys who where this clothing as braggarts. They are the ones who buy these cars more to impress other people. And as if it is not enough for them to drive the car, they also have to wear the clothing to show others what car they drive, maybe even to start a conversation so they can brag about their car. I know it is a stereo type, but I think there is a lot of truth to it, and I do NOT want to be one of those guys or be preceived as one. I realize I should not care what other people think, but then again, I already know I have an awesome car that I bought for its performance, why advertise it even more. Anybody else on this board feel the same way?
btw, InFlight1, I do not think you are one of these guys, I'm only asking the question; like I said, I too have been tempted to buy this type of clothing and I can see why you like the jacket, although I do think that one is a bit over the top with all graphics/writing.
A:
I agree with you on the shouting out "Hey look I have a cool car!" attitude being the perception. However, I think it's cool to have logo wear.
I would buy a Lotus racing jacket if it were not quite over done like this one.
A:
The jacket is a little overdone w/ logo's but if your proud of your car and who makes it I don't see it as someone "showing off". Plus whats wrong with wanting to strike up a conversation about something you enjoy and are proud of?

I had the same thoughts before I bought the jacket. But the way I see it is that it is no different than someone who wears a jacket with his favorite sports team logos plastered all over it. Or T-shirts, ballcaps and so on.
You should see some of the Cleveland Browns coats around here. Screaming orange, with all sorts of embroidery, etc. on them. You can see them coming a mile away! It's their team, they root for it, so they can wear what they want. I don't think any less of them or think they are bragging. They just like the team and are fans.
I'm a fan of Lotus, so I wear the jacket. And sometimes I wear it while NOT driving the car, so I'm not trying to draw extra attention to the car.
I go to lots of car events where the Corvette jackets are everywhere. It's cool, it works.
If you want over the top, check out some of the NASCAR merchandise. There is some serious logo overkill going on there!
In any event, I can understand that it screams out "look at me", but I'm comfortable as to why I wear it. And, yeah, it probably could do with a few less logos...
