A&Q about Lotus
Q:
I am going to be putting the Elise away for the winter shortly and wanted to buy a cover made for it. Anyone have a good spot to recommend?
A:
Lotus, Sector 111 or California Car Cover (Stormweave)
A:
I just got one at Murrays or Pep Boys.... you can get a good one for under 100.00 and it works fine. ( Great watches on the website by the way ! )
A:
On a Lotus, they have to work better than fine. They have to fit tight. And the California Car Cover not only keeps out the weather and the sun, but prying eyes and fingers and is thick enough to help defend against the occasional door opening into it.
You get what you pay for.
A:
I'll agree.... but I'll clarify...... my Elise stays in my own garage with no exposure to anything but an occasional squirrel looking for the peanuts and sunflower seeds I have stored there.
A:
Ahhhhh...the car cover inside the garage.
Mine's outside all the time. Works great...

Hey, thank you!
How did you find my website?
A:
Got a California Car Cover on one car (not Elise), it is high quaility and durable. But I was thinking of a nicer fit for the Elise. Perhaps the form-fit-indoor one from Sector 111 ($$$) or the OEM indoor one.

I took the advice of a friend (and the lady from Sector111) and purchased an Evolution Car Cover instead of a Weathershield. My requirements were in order:
1) Fit specifically for the Exige/Elise
2) Soft inner layer that won't scratch the paint
3) Be somewhat impact resistant.
4) Be somewhat weather proof. My car will never see rain (coverd or no), but I just wanted to have that extra security on days when it sits outside while I'm at work.
That said, I've been very happy with my Evolution Car Cover that I got from Sector111. I put it on my car every time it has to sit outside or in the garage for any length of time and it hasn't seemed to scratch the paint at all in the nearly 6 months I've been using it. I've been very satisfied. Just be sure to get some sort of rope, or even easier bungie cord, to tie both side of the cover together underneath the car.

You got it!

I have the weathershield car cover from sector 111 and it's great, although the car has brake dust near the wheel.
any tip on cleaning these brake dust?
A:
Any of the spray products that say "safe for all wheels" like Zymol (best).
Spray on, rub a little with a foam brush, and rinse off.
Michelin makes a brake dust reducing spray you can then put on that lasts about two weeks.

Any particular reason you chose Stormweave over Superweave?
