I also have the artwork I made in class, taught by the guy who painted the chicks pink car in 2F2F (noah) as well as that freaky looking alpine mini, though i did become enamoured with the splatter head trick using nothing more than a lollipop stick and spent most of the class making splatter effects in black paint on a piece of cardboard, so its outsider art and therefore worth a lot more, its also mostly black.

Start the bidding at say, 5c ?

Did they do that to the Elise?
A:
thats the one.

the mini is nuts, heres a coupla pics with the man himself being all arty n stuff
A:
I saw that Mini at Hot Import Nights. It was just crazy.
A:

just took my 12yr old to see the movie, and was excited to see "our" car in it, although it was a really fast cameo of the elise, it was cool seeing it and knowing ours was parked out in the lot.the movie on the whole, was a little cheesy with some cool effects, although i dont really "get" drifting , as i was always taught apexing etc.. the ricers in the movie had some awesome paint jobs, and it was a good car guy movie...the funny thing that I have to tell is, as my son and i were walking out of the theatre, (we had gotten a spot right in front) some 14-16 year olds behind us were talking to each other and when they spotted our elise, one of the older kids said to his friend,"oh yeah, i heard the producers of the movie have rented those cars and put them in front of EVERY movie theatre for opening weekend" yeah, right, we just smiled and chuckled a bit as we got in , and motored away .....gosh, i love my elise!!!
A:
I saw the movie over the weekend...and lost about 20-30 IQ points. But now I can type again, so that is good.

They had a making-of on HBO. They used some very good drivers like Rhys Millen to hot-shoe the scenes, and teach the actors how to drive drift style.

I'm not 100%, but I'm pretty sure there is actually a Lotus in FF3. If any of you have seen the movie already, it's in a garage where Bow Wow (lol) keeps his Hulk-themed car.

This has been confirmed. It's a European ardent red.

If the Elise did become part of the tuner/import scene it could actually give us more options as far as upgrading and bondo/body kits go

I've met many a F&F fanboy ... they all know the car has a Celica engine in it and they're always asking about the aftermarket parts for the Celica and how they could fit on the Elise etc ... To an extent Lotus encouraged this by putting the Toyota power plant in the car.

Tokyo Drift was the worst of the F&F movies so far, and I believe that’s saying a lot since they all suck (even if I find them entertaining sometimes). I thought the rebodied RX-7 was cheap looking. I much preferred the villain’s vehicle. Anyone have a good pic of the paint job on that thing? I was disappointed that they went back to an RX-7. They just keep using that car over, and over, and over. I hoped for more diversity even if it had to be a one-off custom.

They need a Prodrive P2!!!

Stan - Laughing !! me too! I'm very glad the Elise is quite expensive in price and maintenance here in Canada. It helps to avoid the "kids" from owing them and modding or "ricing" it up like they did with the s2000. They massacred the NSX and s2000 in previous, as well, but the NSX like the Elise is still out of reach for the kids to maintain here in canada which is STILL a good thing. But if Lotus go the route of honda, WE'RE DONE FOR..

Actually IMO, this is the most accurate and best directed of all three of the movies. After catching glimpses of TFATF2 on cable, I'm glad I never saw it.

I'm fortunate in that I've never had to pay to see a FATF movie (always got in on a press/advance screening).

What was retarded is that they didn't prominently feature 240SXes (Silvias) or Skylines (GT-S) more, heck even AE86 Corollas. These are the true drift "beasts" that people are drifting all the time.

I think the graphics were downplayed on the cars (thankfully) and that this movie actually focused on real sports cars (RWD, AWD), not dolled up Civics and Integras (FWD grocery getters/"sporty" but not sports cars).

I'm not a huge fan of the VeilSide widebody FD3S, it sort of ruins the lines, I think other kits like C-WEST's DRFT kits would have made it look better and more believable to "those in the know".

I've photographed of one of the Z33s they used in the film, as well as the siccc 60s Stang with the RB26DETT transplant. (The cars were on display at the Universal Studios booth at HIN/NightShift in Chicago).

In person? The Z33 is hella beat (some sections not clearcoated), exposed and unflush screws, wavy-@ss fiberglass, the whole nine.... but from 10' or more away it's BLINGtastic.
A:
Actually Jay Laub's NSX is in TFATF3 as well (it's the yellow one in Han's garage, it's got the F360/F430-ish looking rear end on it).

Threads merged.
