A&Q about Lotus
Q:
My birthday is tomorrow and my wife just got me tonight.
Sorry for the bad pics, it was dark when it was delivered and I already managed to scrape the bottom front bumper on a speed bump on my street.

welcome

Welcome & congratulations. You have a cool wife.
A:
Welcome to the board. If you have questions on scraping the front, just ask Larry, he has written a dissertation on the subject.
Welcome again; btw, nice car!
A:
Nice. I'd be afraid that the black bmw would'nt see it if they needed to back up.
I've known of a few elises that had been hit because there so low. Me included.
A:
Since the black BMW is mine, I know the other car is back there.
Thanks for the welcome guys.
A:
Nice!!! You got a cool wife! Welcome aboard!
Doesn't the Elise look great with the hardtop? Looks great! Also nice to be able to take the HT off during the summer and pack the softtop just in case of rain.
A:
Excellent color choice. WTC. Now, let's talk about mods....
A:
I scraped mine on a driveway in the first week. But never again.

Yeah, they are all over my street. It's a small private street with kids so they put them in and killed my exotic car future. My friend's Gallardo wouldn't fit on the block so I can't get one myself.
I went in a little too fast and not on an angle the first time so it scraped.
This is still fun.
Here is a shot from this morning.
A:
I hope you don't mind me asking but you don't plan on leaving it parked on the streets do you?
A:
Aren't you parked a little far away from the curb?
A:
Yes, I'll leave it outside most of the time.
As far as the curb goes, it is a private street, not a city street so legally I own the street section in front of my house. It's cool cause we can't get tickets on this block.
A:
Welcome to the fun. The car looks great! These boards are a fun place to discuss cars and other things. It's always nice to have new members! What part of the country are you from? Perhaps we'll see each other at one of the many Lotus events always happening...

The issue is not the exposure as much as people parking around the car. Do be careful, Elises have a high morbidity when parallel parked. Welcome to the gang.
