Instructor Information
Instructors, Scott Atcheson and Clint Mears (yes, he is the son of four-time Indy 500 champion Rick Mears), have driven professionally and have won several national championships (Formula Ford, Super Vee (Formula Atlantic cars), Indy Lights) -- both now teach for Danny Mckeever's FAST LANE (the official racing school for Toyota Motorsports) as well as doing many corporate driver training events for the major auto manufacturers.

Rod Bean, has been amateur racing since 1972, auto-crossed and SCCA raced a Lotus Elan (other cars as well) for years, winning many races. He presently teaches for several schools/track organizations, most notably the Buttonwillow Performance Driving Clinic, as well as Danny Mckeever's FAST LANE. All of these guys love the Lotus Elise/Exige and have experience driving these cars.

A:
I'm still on the fence at the moment. Chances are I'll take 1 spot or my dad and I will take 2.
A:
I will be there..... someone needs to help Jack into that cup car with the stripper pole. What a great way to start my fall vacation. These are some of the best instructors I have seen punch a dance card.

OK I fell off the northern side of the fence towards buttonwillow. Consider 2 more of the spots taken. I'll call tomorrow morning.
A:
Man I'd LOVE to, but I'm already doing 21/22 at Spring Mountain Raceway and can't exactly budget that in.

BTW (off topic), do you guys offer weekend 'days?

Plus there will be 2 supercharged Elises there If Roland is coming that'll be 3...and that also doesn't count Jack's sexy beast. Mine will be the one with the novice driver, Frank will be that noisy mini batmobile flying around.
A:
Well, I'd love to but I'm doing Infineon tomorrow and again in mid November and I need to save some of those vacation days for New Year's in Vegas.
A:
weeeeee, all 3 local tracks this month.
Streets of Willow on the 13th
Cali Speedway on the 21st
Buttonwillow on the 23rd
then off to London on the 30th to visit family and the lotus factory.

good month.

I'm excited to see the different variations of the supercharged cars on the track, we need to get a forced fed car out there too to see the whole variety.

if you are thinking about doing the second (limited to 12 cars) track day on the 24th, the deadline for signing up is Monday October 9th. There are a few spots still open -- only experienced/advanced drivers. First paid. first served allocation system -- please see the Sector 111 annoucment for payment instructions.

The October 24th event is a 12 car event, open lapping format with corner workers, no food and no formal instruction -- cost is $355. Craig Stanton will be available for private coaching at additional expense. It looks like three people have already signed up for his services, so there's room for one more "student".

Any questions, feel free to e-mail me at jack@hspn.com
A:
OK guys... 3 spots left!

Neil
A:
Why don't you guys come to FL and rent out the in field at Daytona?? We don't have anywhere to run here in FL.
A:
I'm in.
I gave in to the sickeningly sweet siren song (love my alliteration?) that is the sound of happy cars at the track...
A:
1 spot left!!!
A:
Absolutely little relation to this thread but today I did a track day at Mid-Ohio and EFR was one of my instructors and I had him drive the car. He drove it like he STOLE it!!! Way too much fun!!!
A:
Track day is FULL

But if you'd like to get on the waiting list please email me.

Thanks

That's great -- we're going to have a blast!

As an additional reminder, if you have indicated an interest in attending the second day -- 12 car event --Tuesday, October 24th -- and haven't paid yet, time and space is running out. We've got three openings as of today and I'm about to open the event up to my usual suspects.

Good news / bad news:

The good news is that I was just invited to race in the 8 hours of Daytona motorcycle endurance race next weekend with one of the teams that I work with. The bad news (which is hopefully good news for someone else) is that I will have to give up my spot for the Lotus track day. I already e-mailed Neil, so if you were on the wait list, you might be getting some good news. If you wanted to go and haven't signed up, you might want to just in case there is no wait list yet.

Too many hobbies, not enough time...
A:
Anyone else doing both days?
Jack & reemo & I are overnighting locally, anyone else staying up, and want to hook up pm me and I'll send our hotel & food plans.
A:
Hey guys... One person is dropping off the list, so we have ONE spot left to fill of this track day.
