Nigel from Lotus was at the Orange County Auto Show this weekend, he saw my jacket and gave it the OK, does that count?

Janette,
You have to come to one of our Sunday Drives or LA dinners and show off the jacket and the car. Can't wait to see both

That jacket is absolutely stunning. I would love to have one with EXIGE in script on the back , under the Lotus logo. Could you provide contact information on where to have one made? Just thought I would ask. Your car is beautiful as well. Congrats, and happy BIRTHDAY!

I have yet to see a nice leather jacket with Lotus emblems for sale publicly. I have a Viper and a Corvette jacket from my ownership period in those marques, and would be specifically interested in a black leather Lotus jacket. Does anyone know where to buy one?

And yes, the nanas DO have a chorus line.

Colin's initials on the patches are in need of having their "C" fixed. It does not go through the "B". Is this deja vous?

No, but the guy who made the jacket sold it. My comment was directed at Donbecker, who has ranted about this in the lighter thread. I don't give a rat's ass about it personally.

Great, then I'll respond.

If you have two private parties, one makes a knockoff good for the other and then is paid for it...that is one thing.

If you actually use a public forum for advertising it, that is a little bit different.

Despite the fact that I didn't see them saying that they were making/selling more of them, I've since moved on.

The discussion of knock-off goods on Elisetalk is (IMO) a moot point as it appears to be tolerated and in some cases encouraged by the moderators.

Using Elisetalk to sell knock-off Lotus merchandise appears to be ok to do.

This isn't my forum and I certainly don't moderate so it isn't my decision to make.

I now return you to the thread back on topic, it does look like a nice jacket.

BTW '48 of 50', do you know where I could get some leather that matches KG?

I could be wrong, it might still violate copyright law, but it is quite different.

I have in no way encouraged the copyright infringement that seems to upset you so much. I have posted that I understand people doing it, and I understand buying the products; but I have not posted that I support it, encourage it, or even like it. I take offense at you trying to make it sound like I do.

I'm still puzzled as to why the lighters seem to upset you so much, but other similar instances don't.

Man, I hate hijacked threads.

I have never stated that you encouraged copyright infringment.

In fact, I don't remember saying anything in particular regarding you, any of the moderators could have changed / can change the situation.

I simply pointed out that the threads are still up.

The mods AFAIK have done nothing to curb the practice and by keeping them open and up I don't see how it's discouraging the behavior.

As I stated: "Using Elisetalk to sell knock-off Lotus merchandise appears to be ok to do."

I've tried to be very careful to not make any of my posts about this personal, so if I inadvertently somehow made you think it was directed specifically at you, I assure you that wasn't my intent.

I don't remember another moderator posting in the lighter thread so maybe that was it.

As for: "I'm still puzzled as to why the lighters seem to upset you so much, but other similar instances don't."

I didn't really think about all the other stuff, but as I stated in the other thread:

"I honestly didn't think about the stickers or parts you mention. If they use the same legally protected logo that Mikey is using on his zippos then I assume that those people would be breaking the same laws he is."

'48 of 50' sorry for your thread getting hijacked.
