He started instant message me the other night and told me that his wife had breast cancer and that he needed the money ASAP. I saved the conversation if anyone wants me to post when I get home. It seemed like a scam though.

Exactly the same auction/description as this one I found on craigslist
Except the ebay one says the car is in Dayton, Ohio and the other says it's in Mission Hills, CA ... I emailed the ebay auction guy 3 days ago and got no response. I emailed the craigslist guy tonight, I'll see if I get a response

Odd because the Ebay seller has 99.8% positive feedback with 522 auctions. Looking forward to finding out which seller emails you... assuming it isn't the same person.

It's a scam! Just got this response from the Craigslister!
"It's a scam- I'm in work with Ebay to catch the fraudster. Before it was
listed in San Diego, now it's in Dayton, OH. Ebay is moving really slowly on
this. I don't use Ebay, especially for vehicles: too much misrepresentation,
fraud, etc. There's another ridiculously cheap Lotus apparently listed, but
it was removed last night.
