Standard Exhaust...

A&Q about Lotus

Q:
A quick question...

Will the stock exhaust fit in the passenger side of the car for when i get the stage 2 fitted? to bring it back home again?

Thanks
A:
Yes, but put it in a heavy duty garbage bag otherwise you will have soot all over the place.
A:
Yeah i will be sure to wrap it up well. Thanks, thats good news!
A:
Fit it in rear trunk.

Leave it there. I changed mine to the Larini with sport cat, now I'm stuck with this monstrocity in my garage that I don't know what to do with.

Wrap it up well in old towels and it will fit neatly on the passenger seat. I didn't do this, and the 'spigot' (?) scratched my footrest. Oh well, serve me right for being a GJOB.

I thought about selling the OEM part, but rapidly concluded that there was no market really, and I CBA tripping over the thing in the hallway. In the end, I gave it away to a fellow Selocer who bought the car with the Quicksilver already fitted, but found the Quicksilver too loud.

If anyone wants mine... come take it. Muffler and Cat.
A:
If you're having it fitted at a Lotus dealer, you could just leave it there. They usually have a 'graveyard' of stock exhausts so if you need it back at any time, they can drag it out for you.

You could just fit the exhaust yourself though - real easy job - less than an hour...

I think one of the more artistic owners of the forum should take all the old exhausts and make a sculpture. I will willingly donate mine.

+1
but you'll need a wet suit to retrieve it from the bottom of my marina..

Did it break off when you were using it as a boat anchor?

Don't these things rust out and have to be replaced eventually?
