It's the Elise. I was hit on 3 times last night.

A&Q about Lotus

Q:
I have never posted a topic like this before but I do want to confirm that this does happen. I used to read some threads like this and was skeptic.

I took my car out for only the second time ever at night to head over my brother's workplace (A Toyota dealership) where they have an ideal spot to aim your lights.

I pull into the back of the service area and the mechanics working the late shift all come over. My brother heads a team of younger mechanics and they were all very friendly and just a nice group overall. One of them is a female mechanic who asks whose car is this, my oldest brother introduces me and points out it's my Elise - she is all smiles and could not stop looking at the car. I invite her to sit in it and the other mechanics warn her not to get the car dirty. So far I cannot belive how much this car is making people smile. She gets in and I close the driver's door. She pretends to drive it. Not shifting the stick into gear or anything but grabbing the steering wheel with both hands and assuming a driving position. She says it fits like a glove.
Later she opens the door and reaches her hand out for me to help her out of the car. I help her out as a gentleman should. At that point all I can feel is her eyes on me and a grin as wide as can be. It got to be that I can barely concentrate as my brother and I aimed the lights and I tightened down the bolts. I would see the other mechanics smiling and nudging each other when she's not looking - they are making fun of her cause she just kept staring at me. After about 10 minutes I could not take it anymore and declared the driving lights 'aimed properly'. I thanked my brother and said nice meeting you to everyone - she looked me right in the eye and really shook my hand tight - i mean tight and used both hands - y'know what I mean fellow Elise/Exige owners and I thought I better leave. lol! My brother acknowldeged later that she asked about me. I am very flattered but I know it's the car.

Later, when I got near the house I stopped at a gas station. I was filling up and behind me 2 women pull up in a Scion TC, they first asked about the car and the conversation then changed to questions like 'where do you go clubbing'? are you married? 'You look too young to be married!' the driver says and they look at each other and smile. My thoughts again said - 'it's the car'. I smile, say nice to have met you two and leave for home.

Wow, I have read the stories but now I have experienced it myself. Crazy car and it's effect on people.

hehehe great story!
A:
Sounds nice mate. But think about it, they are interested because they don't know what the car is, therefore they think its expensive, therefore they think you're rich. Gold diggers!!
A:
good job but suprised you guys don't get this while driving you beaters!!! hell i got hit on 2 times one day earlier this month.... while fly fishing. both were younger chicks (20's) and both were better than average! maybe 7's. too bad you think it's all the car! i'm just cocky enough to think the car may have helped but i KNOW it was mostly just cuzz i'm a stud! just kiddin' good job.
but if you were a true "gentleman" as you stated you would have given here a ride........in the car i mean! well you DO know where she works.

but all inquiring minds want to know were they cute or beat them with an ugly stick ugly?

The mechanic - petite and very attractive. Blonde - she had her hair all pulled back - in Toyota mechanics clothes but wow - she is in great shape. Very cute face and great smile.

2 women in the car - also very attractice. 8+ each and dressed to go out.

Sheesh....this is the 3rd cam kicking in!!!! LOL!
A:
okay so you go back to the toyota garage for an oil change and let her poke around with your undertray off. then you say something cute like... so was it good for you too? or boy i sure do love the feel of a good synthetic oil!

she'll be hooked!

It sounds like the first woman was interested in both you car AND you. If she kept staring at you instead of the car, there may be some signals there.

I say, go for a date! Get her number and ask. I'm sure you'll have much fun!

As for thinking "it's the car", yeah, while that might be obvious, it's also what the car represents, and that's loads of fun. A person to have a car likethis is bound to want to have loads of fun. So really, it's more about the person, not so much the car.
A:
IMO, the car is the opener, it's something to make you stand out. Sure beats a crappy opening line at a gas station when you pull up in a rusted out old honda!

I've been married 11 years now, and these cars still get me some attention, but it's fun to banter/flirt around a bit though the Missus (hot mama) is still holdin' it down at home
A:
I should clarify though!!
I am happily married for 7 great years and one great 22 month old daughter.
A:
so your point is... that your brother can't be trusted??? with your wife???

simple new math... is your wife hotter or is the mechanic hotter(think diet pepsi commercial)
A:
CONFIRMED...ELISE is the Ultimate PickUpTool Too bad I got a girlfriend

FYI, I rarely got approached by girls when I'm in my 430...hmmm

Good man. Side action is not worth losing your family. I have too many friends that learned this the hard way.

Oh..forget what i said then. I thought you were single.

Perhaps a disclaimer was in order before you posted..hehe
A:
Anybody who thinks the car you drive doesn't make a real difference (for better or worse) depending on what you're in the "market" for is a fool. Have fun and be humble... and don't forget to take the opportunity when it's staring you in the face... that's the worst mistake.

Hit on three times? You assume the two girls wanted to tag team you.
A:
thats EXACTLY what I would have assumed...well maybe not tag team but at least take turns over the course of the next few days!
A:
Man, I thought your Elise got hit three times in the same night. That would have been a strong candidate in the "sucks to be you" category.
