A&Q about Lotus

Nice mod for a race vehicle. S42's a 2.0L naturally aspirated BMW with anywhere from 285-315HP. Can you imagine if Lotus had chosen that engine as the stock engine?
A:
Race versions of the Elise have had quite a few engines installed. AFAIK there's one in Sweden which has the engine and rear suspension from an F3 car on it. (longitudinal mount, transaxle)
Just depends on the race regulations what's you can or can't do.
Bye, Arno.

WoW another genmay user on this board.

F*ck everything else! This makes the most sense for an engine that I've seen yet.
A:
300HP out a NA 2.0L.....you guys complain about the revving engine enough as it is

there was a european version elise at the racetrack last weekend with a Honda Acura(i think it was an acura, but it was a honda) engine in it. It was fast, but it blew up the engine when a rod cap broke, and i got to drive through its life blood layed out in a fast turn one. I know what the surface hazzard flag looks like, and follwed its implication. the mini running a second or so behind me chose to ignore(or didnt know what the flag was) the "infomation flag" and continued at race speed and munched a wall. mini was as done for the day as the elise.

Was it the Hondata? or a conversion kit? The Hondata was a 2005 prototype built by Prototype Racing. I think CnD did a review about a yr ago. It had 320 hp. It was a Honda (Acura RSX) 2.0 dohc 16v six-speed. I think there was also a Jackson Racing supercharger. If I remember ??? (bad w/#'s) it was in the $73 range after all the upgrades.
I always wondered if it ever made it to production since I didn't hear squak about it at 2006 LA auto show and forgot to ask I was so busy ckg out the new Exige.
I'm really curious if it ever made it to the street? Do you know?
I will say a prayer for the mini. I have a soft spot for them. Hopefully it wasn't a vintage mini.
