A&Q about Lotus
Q:
Hey guys
Check out our newest tasty aero bit. GUT has developed a top notch fender that will improve aerodynamics. Expect performance and aggressive styling from this high end Japanese component.
• Made of fiberglass material
- Light as stock, and won't compromise performance.
• Strategically Vented
- These will help exhaust pressurized air in the wheel well, resulting in
improved aerodynamics and improved air flow.
• Primered White
- Ready to take on the color of your choice.
• Slightly Flared with an Integrated Mud Flap
- This unyielding design eliminates ugly rubber mud flap.
• Perfectly fitted
- Exact replacement for stock Elise fender; no cutting or drilling
Price is for set of two.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks
Neil

More photos. Would like to see how it blends in with the rear intakes and the car as a whole. Good stuff, something I hadn't thought of or seen before but a nice tasty mod that may tie in the flared rear section better and help off load the beating it takes.
EDIT- Thanks for the photos... just what I was looking for.

Dammit, you guys are gonna make me go broke... I want one!!
Pic of the side of the entire car so we can see how the bottom mold (specifically, that bump that comes out) integrates with the bottom mold of the rear bottom panel? And how the new side outtake matches the stock side intake?
edit: damn, LarryB beat me to it...

Is the flared out portion behind the front tire wider than the current rubber mud flap? I put 215 tires on the front which stick out past the rubber flap, thereby throwing debris uninhibited onto the front side of the rear fenders.

I believe they take up about the same real estate as the stock mud flaps. Maybe a bit more flared. Very much like a stock Exige fender.

Man, I was thinking exactly the same thing. I have the Falken RT-615's with a 215 up front and thought this would solve my problem. If this new fender hides the 215 tire I will buy a set, let us know Neil.

The paint does not quite match; did you notice that? It is close, but you can tell it is a little off.
Now to the chrome (bling) wheels. I HATE chrome wheels, but for some reason I actually find the ones on NRG x's car acceptable; any other chrome haters agree? They don't look half bad.

I believe they are Advans. I am not a big fan of chrome either but these wheel good in person, they are much more polished than strait chrome.

yeah, they're the advan RG II's. the chrome-like finish is something advan offers on their wheel lineup. if i was running like CHROME dubs, or CHROME giovannis, then be my guest and you can beat me...
i love wheels... and i always like to get something different on all the cars i have: gunmetal finish, machine polish, high polish (like advans), matte finish, black, etc...
the chrome seems to be a hard thing to digest... just know i'm a sorta ANTI-bling bling (at least over the top).... haha...

the fender doesn't seem to go quite as low as the mud flaps. but between the flaired outward and downward design, it does its job, and LOOKS just so much more cleaner... the black mudflaps actually broke up the nice curve from the rear wheel well to the front... this finishes it off nicely...

and yes, paint is a bit off... we rushed to have the fender fitted, painted, and shot for photoshoot... unfortunately that rush job resulted in the off matched paint... hopefully i'll have time to get it repainted soon...

I'm intrigued by the look but ... forgive me for asking if it seems obvious to everyone else ...
Isn't there a wheel liner that runs the entire curvature of the wheel well? I seem to remember one in there when I put my new headlights in.
Does that have to be cut then in order to allow for any airflow? I'm not right next to my car but I thought there was a seem right in that spot where two sections of the well came together, perhaps it was all one piece, I may be remembering incorrectly it's been a few months since I looked in that area.
Are the fins in the pictures painted or coated to have a carbon fiber look? It's hard to tell if they're just shiny or CF or something else ...
Thanks for the products! Keep them coming!

You know what is funny NRG x? My front left fender does not match the rest of my car and came that way when I bought it new, I did not notice until months after buying it. I don't know if it came that way from the factory (would not be a surprise), or if it got damaged during transport and they repainted it at the port (does Lotus do this, I know BMW does)? Anyway, getting these new fenders would allow me to finally have them match the rest of the car. I think my front left is off more than yours!
btw, your car looks awesome; I am liking your wheels more and more! I would not want them on my NFB, but they work well with your color.
Edit: Am I posting at 7:30 am on a Saturday morning? I really need to get a life; E-Talk is soooooooooo addicting!

hahhaha... i know sometimes bodyshops seem to have a hard time painting SEPERATE pieces than the whole car, or sections with blends... even more problematic with pearls/metallics.... also material characteristics makes a difference...like on my g35, and you'll notice on most g35's, the rear bumper's paint is off from the fender... is how the paint sits on the plastic/urethane vs. the metal body...
