Newbie Needs Place to Yell Loud [Now one year later]

A&Q about Lotus

Q:
Can we have a Discussion Thread for new owners who just took delivery and need a place to scream? I mean the car is amazing. And amazingly different than anything else I've owned or driven. It's like half gokart, half Ferrari, with a little bit of Cessna thrown in. EVEN MY FATHER WHO HATES FOREIGN/SMALL/PERFORMANCE/CONVERTIBLE/MIDENGINE CARS LIKES IT!!!!

See it here:

EldersburgElise,
Go on out to Liberty resevoir and scream. Nobody likely to hear you there.
Its not the loud scream, its the permanent smile thats the problem.

Congrats on the new car.

Congrats on the Elise,welcome aboard!!
A:
Welcome to the family, I just got my Elise two months ago and I feel the same .

By the way you have great taste in color combo, mine is also AR/Bisquit with LSS like yours. I have to ask with the Cessna comment are you a pilot?
A:
Am I a pilot? Yes and no. I got my private pilot license, then gave it up to skydive. Had to give up skydiving to have a wife and child. (Recently recovered from that by getting an Elise.)

I likened the Elise to a Cessna when a pilot/friend of mine climbed aboard mine. He remarked, "There's more room in a Cessna!"
A:
Congratulations on your new Elise! Mine is also AR/Bisquit. I also used to fly, but haven't for years. And, I'm a former cop, so I have something in common with AZSKYCOP as well. Small world.
A:
Well, it's officially been one year for me. I can honestly say, the Elise has far surpassed my expectations, and I cannot imagine another car that is more exciting.

One clam scrape, two stone chips, one autocross school, a million remarks and comments, three car shows, one time almost lost it, one tiny warranty thingie, one heck of an engine, one new battery, gobs of new friends, four new tires, one ticket (for no front plate), and a bazillion great memories.

Thanks, rob, ciro, tracy, joanne, tim, and todd! And of course, thanks randy!

cool followup..

Happy Anniversary!!!!
A:
Welcome, feeling' s about the car are the same. Very good stress reliever, even better at times than flying. My Elise is 2 mo old , a 06 with a hardtop and is also AR. Have since done the the console in black leather with red leather on top. Just finished stage 2 exhaust. Am also a pilot and owner of this Dakota.
A:
Congrats EBergElise.

I recall someone 4 months who offered me a ride when I was on the fence.........Elise or M3? Never followed up on that ride, but your sincerity was one of the reason I decided on the Elise. I am glad I'm apart of a very exclusive close-knit group. Us Marylanders should go for a drive sometime in the spring.

Harold, you need to hold a meet at your house.
A:
Very cool. I am 22k miles and 19 months into ownership and every single morning driving my car cheers me up.

Maryland Elise guys:
I just picked up my 05 SY Elise from Mr Todd in Crownsville, MD. I ride my Monster up there with my buddy from Jessup sometimes. You got some really nice curvy roads up there. I'm just down by Dulles airport in VA. I'd love to tag along if a bunch of people get together.

Today is the first day I'm planning on taking the car out. It's been rainy, I wasn't legal, or I wasn't around until today. Going out towards Leesburg, VA after work. Can't wait!

This is not helping those of us whose cars exist in potentia.

Maybe I can do like Cartman and freeze myself in the mountains so I can wake up and have my car!
A:
I LOVE MY LOTUS!!!!!!!

I like the idea. Is it too cold now?

How about a pancake breakfast, afterwhich we all go out for a drive?
