Questions about CO elise on ebay

A&Q about Lotus

Q:

Hi People,

does anyone know whose car this is. It's an attractive car and the price with the mods, but that "doesn't go into second cam" issue seems scary. Also, any ideas what the cost to fix the driver side could be? Any input is appreciated.

Thanks.

I would not buy that car till the dealer looked over. "not going into the second cam" is worrisome to me as well. On a different note, I'm glad I did not paint the engine covers CO in my car.
A:
Personally, I would be very nervous about buying an Elise from someone who parked it like this. Note the Giant SUV in front, with very little room fore and aft of that land yacht for them to get out.

The damage shown doesn't look too bad, though any repair professionally done will not be cheap, especially with a more complicated paint like CO. If I had to guess, I'd guess close to $1k. The thing about the engine not working right is scary though, and for a new car under warranty, I don't see why the car needs to be sold in that condition.

This one was on sale on ebay before...months ago..it was a guy from NJ who was selling it, said that he had it at his place in FL..I would be worried...

thanks for the info. people... I was sure that the owner would have been on etalk though... but the fact that no one here knows this car is another worrysome detail I guess. I was attracted to to all the performance mods though, but that second cam issue is a deal killer.
