Another Lotus Rental Thread!

A&Q about Lotus

Q:
I spotted this just last weekend. I was tempted to look it over to see if it had been damaged but didn't.

There are only TWO in my area and you see them very very very rarely. I've since made my mind that I cannot buy one because everyone will think I'm driving a rental car and that it isn't mine. Time to think of something else unique to buy???

Oh, and I stopped there Saturday morning to inquire about them. They are 134.95/day with a 200 mile limit. I might rent one some day, but sure as heck can't buy one. The only option I have is buying a different color than what they offer as rental and the only other color I like is yellow..but theres already one in the area
If you really like the car, I don't understand why you would care so much what a total stranger driving by may or may not momentarily think.

I just browsed through this thread, and I think there is a very important warning for rental customers that has not been mentioned.

THE CAR WILL START WHILE IN GEAR, AND THAT WILL CAUSE IT TO JUMP FORWARD (or backward if in reverse). *ALWAYS* MAKE SURE THE CAR IS IN NEUTRAL AND/OR THE CLUTCH IS DEPRESSED BEFORE PRESSING THE START BUTTON. This can be very dangerous, and if it's not specifically pointed out to every single customer, it's only a matter of time before damage is caused by this. Especially if the customer is used to driving as automatic car on a daily basis.
