Impromptu Dragon Run Tomorrow Sat 9/29

A&Q about Lotus

Q:
Anyone up for an impromptu Dragon run tomorrow? I know this is pretty short notice, but my girlfriend just told me she's going to be shopping all day and I don't really feel like sitting around the house. The weather looks like it will be great. Sunny with highs in the mid-70s. I think I will probably be there around 10 AM and do some of the other roads in the area in the afternoon.

EDIT: I think I might try to do this Sunday instead. any interest?

Take it easy with the run today. During a local cruise today (not Dragon), this fellow had a little mishap in his 2.5RS (STi swapped)...

It happens to everyone, saddly. He was lucky enough to walk away with not a bruise...

I understand the dragon was full of nonstop wrecks this weekend with a few of them being nasty. I've all but given it up on the weekends as it's just not worth it. However, if I know another Elise or three are going to be out there I could be game. This past weekend, however, I was down for the count and out sick as a dog with the nasty cold that's going around. Unfortunately I gave it to my wife so I'm playing nursemaid to her this week. She did a good job for me, I get to do the same for her. Give us a few days notice and we ought to be game as well as bring out our camera gear. We don't charge for the shots we take.

I didn't end up making it as far as the Dragon this weekend, but I did run some of the Blue Ridge Parkway west of Asheville and a few of the roads going on and off of it (NC-215, US 276 and NC 151). Sunday was a great day for it - the weather was beautiful. I kept it at sane speeds most of the time and still enjoyed myself.

Here's a shot I took this weekend on the parkway.

Glad to hear no one was hurt, sorry to see the car though.

Wow. I knew there was no way I could make the haul to the dragon on Sat, so I drove near Blowing Rock on Sunday. Came within a stones throw, but didn't get onto the parkway. 211, 268?, and Brushy Mtn. Rd.

Sounds like you were right in my backyard. How was Brushy Mtn Rd? I have heard the name before, but I can't think of where it is.

I'm thinking of going for some type of drive next Sunday as long as the weather looks good. Maybe we should get the Charlotte area group together for something.
