The members of ET should always be the first to know!!!!
I had someone from Lotus eyeing me out so I couldn't take a pic but, I do have pics of the new stage 3 that I'll post later however, I think you guys have seen it already.

Listen...I like the Lotus guys...I think they have their hearts in the right place...but when I look at the sun visors...like why couldnt they have licensed the ones from the Miata...just as big...and they unfold so they are at least usable. Why no cupholders and no cruise.
I know...I know...I saw the video..cute but I still would have liked the 2 items above. I told them so when I test drove the prototype and they asked for comments. The guys at Auto Europe laughed at me when they read my form.
I am afraid that the bumpers will be just like the ones in the picture.....we shall see...maybe they will come off..

I think that last is probably the best idea so far... if Lotus is just smart enough to engineer the bumpers in such a way to make them easily removable by the owner, returning it to pre-2007 standard.

You honestly think it will make a difference in insurance cost? Even accident result? I say absolutely not.

Damnit, I want some bumpers

Yes. I do.

The front clam may absorb the impact, but i don't think it will prevent from the clam from cracking. The rear bumperettes seem like they'll only work if you it something (or if somone hits you) squarely on the rear. I don't think they'll be effective at an angle.

Get an 06 while you can, 13 lbs less, more comfy seats, LED tailights, no shifter problem, better pedal spacing. Rubber bumpers? we dont need no stinking rubber bumpers!

In a collision I don't see how much those little add on bumper things will really do.

MSRP will be 1k more than 06
Rearview mirror will be smaller
Headlights will be sealed
LOTUS lettering on rear will be raised
Alpine stereo to replace Blaupunkt unit
No changes to bumpers until December build
Otherwise colors and options to remain same for now
Anyone have any additional info?
Since my 2007 Elise S has been delivered, I can confirm the following:
- rearview mirror seems to be unchanged
- headlights are sealed (don't know yet whether that is good or bad)
- there is a third parking light-typed light under the cover on top of the main lights
- LOTUS lettering is NOT raised on the S, but on the new R (I saw one)
- there is an Alpine radio coming as a standard
- no bumperettes or different bumpers
- no changes in colors so far
My Elise came with Europe specification, so I do not have any idea of the US version. Also, I do not have any 'official' information.
So the headlights might be the only important upgrade. A large picture can be found here:

The Countach looks bad, and so does this E-Type S3. Crash regs may damage a car without crashing it.

Heard very recently that '07's out in Los Angeles in November. We shall see...
