Crow,

I've got even better news for you - xxx works for a Lotus dealership in San Fran. Lots of new cars in stock...
A:
Yes, I didn't realize that until she PM'd me with a car deal. Always working, even on weekends, those dealers are!

I don't think SouthBay has much to worry about from BH Lotus. Both sound like good dealerships and SouthBay has a reputation and a solid customer base. I think Silverstar is probably that needs to be concerned. Since the "Northerners" will probably choose between BH or Silverstar.

That being said, two dealership is great for customers from a sales perspective. But from a service point of view, SouthBay is open every third Saturday which is a big plus for those who can't make it to SouthBay or Beverly Hills on a weekday.

Brandon, I know you haven't officially openned yet but do you foresee Saturday service hours? Maybe stagged service days like Tuesday through Saturday (like most motorcycle shops)?

If the need is there I do not see way not. We still have to hire our techs and send them to training. Then we can make the hours. Our service dept will not be open until Nov 6th. The sales dept is sort of open, as long as you bare with me. I can say the more customers we have, the more hours we will be open.

As to Silverstar, I used to work for them and they have never spent time or money on Lotus. To my Knowledge they have a very limited number of vehicle. Last I was there, it was about four or five in total. We have close to 20 in stock and more on the way. I am not saying they are not a good dealer or don't desire your business, so please do not take that they wrong way.

Brandon

I just moved to LA a few months ago and before I had some warranty work done to my Elise, I did do a Elisetalk search of the SouthBay and Silverstar. Southbay 's comments were all favorable. Silverstar had favorable comments in regards to their service but sales had some negative comments.

So, I from what I've seen on Elisetalk, I think Silverstar's focus is really on their other brands. As you said previously, I think BH Lotus will be welcomed for those in the BH area and northward.

I couldn't remember the number correctly, it was actually 337. Here is the VW GTI I was referring to:

Wow, fierce thread!!

It would seem obvious that the reason Lotus desperately needs the hole plugged in the heart of the exotic car strip, (just a few doors down from their old spot at Symbolic BH) is to ensure all the car mad millionaires have easy and instant access to the upcoming $100K+ Esprit, which is aimed squarely at the Porsche/Lambo/Ferrari market and all those are sold on the same strip. I don't think BH is really there for us track rats and loose nuts, its all about the high rollers.

I live just a stones throw away up on Sunset, so it is handy to know there's a new shop locally incase I need a part fast, but I'll still take my car to SB because getting your car done just right is all about relationships and trust. As all I do with my Elise is tracking I want to know exactly who is setting up my car, and to be able to look them in the eye and talk to them about it too - better still I like to see them at the track with us.

Can I drive your baby? I thought you were looking for a "stupid, rich man" to tame your Elise affliction? Don't think she has the "OEM" parts you are looking for...unless she's done a bit of a mod we don't know about.

There are always exceptions ... usually those exceptions come in the shape of a woman in heels and a cute dress.
